This is the best cabin by far, so glad i was talking about a bear barrel in the mall and ran into you the day after you got back from this trip and got to hear about the cabin! Well worth the trip for us and the wait to see the video, for some reason we enjoy the video's more when we have been to the location! If you ever want to travel with another couple...😂

Great video Noah. Thanks for sharing. You captured the spirit of the cabin. I just want to send out a big thank you to the folks that make it out there. It's a great comfort to see how well visitors are taking care of the old cabin. Your pictures sure brought back a lot of memories. The restoration was from 2016 to 2021. First reno-trip, the planning debut, was in May, 2015. Depending on how you count, 38 adventurers pitched in on the project.

I remember that long saw, my parents used it to clear the couple acres they built our cabin on then we got the Crystal Lake property in 1960. Dont remember what it was called.

Lovely vid as usual. FYI…when you drop your phone in the H2O, don’t “touch that dial”. As someone who has a certain spouse who too frequently leaves his cell in his pocket while fly fishing (think 2 hrs in the Margaree), leave it alone until you can stick it in a bag of rice (or other desiccant) for several days. I take along a wee bag when going on extended adventures.😂

I could never have my girlfriend to do something like this with me 😂 . That was quite an adventure to get to that cabin and ...come back . Getting to the summit is only a victory if you come back alive to the base camp . My cell phone is supposed to resist an immersion for 15 min in 1.5 M of water ...wont try it thought 😅 thanks for the glacial video 🥶

You are very lucky to have such great people out east who maintain these cabins. I hope it's a tradition that continues. I would like to see this kind of tradition in Ontario as well. We have lots of public lands and we need to build a network of cabins for recreational purposes.

Great trip! I had a phone get wet and after I left it in a closet for a few months it turned back on (I guess it had finally dried out) so maybe not all hope is lost. No promises though haha

Hemlock wooly 'ah-DEL-jid'. With a two-person saw, you only PULL, never push. So when it is your turn to use your muscles, PULL on the handle. Then let the other person PULL it back. Also, oil the blade to protect it from rusting and to reduce friction while cutting.

Spent a few days there this summer . Leaving the cabin the first lake was glass. But that second lake was a head wind the whole way back. Came out at the same place. Felt like we were on our trip again. Thanks for making this video.

Well, I thought for sure that I knew where this cabin is, but I must be wrong because that one isn't that far from the access point. Not a whole day paddle, I mean. But those names on the rafters are all pretty local for sure! Anyway, great video, I wouldn't have the guts to paddle this time of year (says she - and adds a log to her woodstove before going to bed).

You two always make being in the rain wind and snow a good time, and I'm sure it is . I like being in a cozy off grid cabin,but as far as paddling I couldn't do it !!!! That's why I get to watch these videos with both of you enjoying these adventures. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe as always
