XG is a Global Hip hop and R&B group and their producer has said that they're not kpop or J-pop (they're Japanese), they have also referred to themselves as X-pop (XG-POP)

xg is not K-pop. It's J-pop that borrowed K-pop's popularity. Those Japanese people mock K-pop and try to use it only. If you don't believe me, search. In this generation, XG and NewJeans are so far the ONLY girl groups I absolutely adore! Their styles and sound is something that was greatly missing in Kpop for a good minute. Just pure bops all the way through on both sides.
