In the early sixties my dad had a Royal Enfield and Panther motorcycle dealership, and he picked up two JAP speedway bikes, a red and a blue one as a matter of fact, wish I had them now. I did manage to save a 1963 Royal Enfield 500cc Fury, one of only 193 made, we only rode it around the yard a few times, is all it has been ridden.

I grew up in the San Fernando Valley in Arleta ca. and my neighbor was a old speedway rider from the 40s and 50s and he had one of original JAP speedway bikes and I asked him who makes them and if I can remember it was James A. Prestwick (JAP) I think because that name always stuck in my mind
