That's the first time I have seen that technique and those little hair clips since my mother used to sometimes do my hair. I'm seriously a bit chocked up. Thank you so much for bringing back such a precious memory for me. I am 60 years old and this is a very old technique!😊

@@monicaxxi4277 um...your ethnicity has nothing to do with where you live. She is Romani, search it up. Like I'm ethnically Chinese but I'm from Australia...Romani has historically lived everywhere and moved everywhere, just like Jews.

My mom was a teenager in the 50s. She used pin curls her entire life. After she combed out a section of hair, she would put her finger next to her scalp, wind the hair around the finger and secure the curl with a bobby pin. Her curls never loosened or got frizzy while she slept. Editing to add. With Mom's method, the curl is positioned exactly where you want it on your scalp. And you won't have any loose bits of hair that didn't get rolled into the curl.

Love these old fashioned long hair styles. They are simply lushous and classy! They will certainly turn heads.

I just love Old Hollywood/40's style hairstyles! So elegant!

My mum was in her 20's during the 50's and she said that's how they used to do their hair. Lady's used to be bused to the American Air Base (Brize Norton) for their dances. Mum said they would get home from work, have a quick wash and brush up, do the spit and curl (which was spit on your finger , wipe it on a section then wind it up and pin in place, that would be enough to refresh the curls), leave them in until just before arriving on base. I have some lovely photo's from then. One of the guys won a teddy at the base fair for my mum which I now have as she is sadly no longer with us. Ted is about 69/70 years old, nearly twenty years older than me :)

Oh yes, I remember the pin curls. My mom did my hair when I was a kid still know how to do it and it really is amazing. Now they have all these expensive contraptions you can buy for different hairdos and there’s really no improvement on the hairdos.

This is the first time I saw someone copy this hairstyle and actually succeed! You look amazing!

Just the other day I was looking at my highschool yearbook and I realized the prom king, the guy who was the most popular sought after dude in my 6,000 person school was actually not that cute 😆 I thought he was so cute back then! He was confident, so nice, and very charismatic (which has nothing to do with looks i.e. Pete Davidson 😂)

This reminds me of my grandmother. She was born in the early 1920s and wore her hair like this in the 1940s. The red hair with a giant swoop at the brow and bright red lipstick were her signature throughout her life.
