I don't think so; she's obviously nervous and flustered, and he's badgering her and pushing her with rapid-fire questions, rather than making her feel comfortable and giving her a chance to answer them; I even had to check my player to make sure it was normal speed, not fast motion. Seriously, any lulls can be worked out in editing; there's no need to push a guest like that. People tune in to see the celeb, not the third degree.

He is such a gentleman at interviews. He could have been a pusher who asked for the tea on her bf at the time or treated her like being in movies will be the best thing to happen to her, but when she didnt share more on the bf he moved right on to the next topic and he sincerely congratulated her on her studies outside of Harry Potter knowing how much her studies meant to her. I knew I've always liked him for a reason beyond just being funny.

A gentleman indeed, but (and pardon my cynicism here) emphasizing the boyfriend also felt a bit planned (either by her management or Ross's) as a reasonable way to tell her crazier fans to back off and discourage them from trying even harder to "impress" her with new chat up lines.

I cannot believe it’s been over 10 years since the last movie came out, 20 years since it all started. The return to Hogwarts special has me rewatching all the films presumably like many others are and it’s making me greatly miss my childhood. My mother had taken me to this small single screen theater to see the first one and it became our thing to go and watch them all together in that theater as they came out. Childhood memories that I wish I could relive. Kind of ruined it though when on vacation I begged to go out with the others who were planning to see the Order of The Phoenix as it had just released. My mother wanted me to wait until we got back but impatient 13 year old me at the time didn’t want to wait and was so excited as I loved Harry Potter just so much. She reluctantly let me go and off I went. Felt real guilty for that as I grew older and realized how much those trips to the theater meant to her and me as well.

So comparing Emma Watson to them is like comparing McDonalds to Gordon Ramsays restaurants it's a whole different level compared to the others no doubt about it. Don't get me wrong Emma Watson seems like a nice person, amazing, beautiful has some great movies but the only one I've seen of her are the Harry Potter movies and that's all she's pretty much known for. Get a grip. She's a middle-upper classed, privately educated, woke activist of the most vehement type. She loves the media clout of evangelising on social justice issues that don't remotely affect her, in efforts to improve her brand image. The absolute twaddle from this wooden actress is plain for many to see.

@Mike Totally agree Mike. The sycophantic, simping comments on this video are ridiculous lol. She’s from two lawyer parents and went to Dragon on to Brown. She is well spoken and has refined manners and that is laudable but the rest is the same trite nonsense. And it’s not “hating” to say that. I don’t hate that girl - I don’t even know her and never will - but it’s just calling it for the reality.

You know, the contrast between this little interview and the myriad of dialogs I've seen in American talk shows is simply astonishing. For one, the interviewer doesn't lord over the guest or interrupt her simply to showcase his bland witticism. I'm sure it's not a rule, but British talk shows seem to be more... polite, for lack of a better expression.

Yes, generally to an extent, you can generalise about the national Character. In the US the unspoken rule is to be Extrovert, with a confidence bordering on brashness and project the impression of success, even when insecure (not for everyone, but a general rule of thumb). In Britain, the predisposition is to be modest and polite, initially reserved and thoughtful. In many situations, you would probably have most Americans jumping in to a situation and if they are highly skilled they will swim well, whereas the Brit is more likely to observe 1st and then make less progress initially, but maggots won't crash and burn.Ultimately, the Brit will organically grow into this situation, with less artificiality, intensity and vulnerability to the atmosphere. Here is a perfect case in point, very natural, organically growing conversation, without pretension or insecurity. If Jonathan cracks jokes, it's because he's just predisposed, as British men often tease women they are attracted to, which isn't always very effective 🤣 The US talk show host is doing it in a deliberate sense, consciously aware of ratings and his own image
