Old Dresser gets an UNBELIEVABLE restoration & makeover

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Who loves a good before and after?? This worn out, beat up, stinky old dresser was definitely resurrected. It took a few days longer than expected but that walnut woodgrain is singing once again, with just the smallest bit of paint to really set it off.
There is also a rescue bunny update, and I show you how I sharpen my scrapers, patch veneer, and use an ozone machine for the first time.
I hope you enjoy this insane transformation!

I think your subscribers aren’t typical KZread subscribers that average out to 20 minutes and then abandon the video as too long. Instead, I think we love the longer videos. Especially on a piece that surely was destined for the landfill. This one can withstand another 100 years. It’s so gorgeous I just about need sunglasses to look at it!

As a woman woodworker for over 25 years, I am so happy to see another woman sharpening her tools. This is the first time I've ever seen it done in any video that I've watched. Also, this is the first video of yours that I've watched and I'm so glad to see you didn't use oven cleaner to "strip" this piece. Oh, and thanks for not killing the spiders. I evict them also and never kill them. So, to recap: A woman who sharpens her tools, strips wood the right way and doesn't kill spiders. Awesome!

I haven't seen anyone else go through so much trouble to make the inside of the draws look like near new condition. Thank you much for taking the time to show us how to repair veneer. My wife has a side board that's been handed down for generations, and sadly the veneer has become damaged. My wife cried when she saw it. This gives me hope that we can repair it. Thank you.

What surprised me the most, was that the Ozone treatment DIDN'T kill the spider! I've been a subscriber since I discovered your channel, while languishing in hospital after breaking my hip. --- I think your narration, and the love and good humour in your voice, is probably the best of all the "restoring" videos. It's like the " Ugly Duckling " changed into the " Beautiful Swan " !!!!!! It's like the person that is looked at as having no worth or value and then seems like, right before your eyes they you see that wonder and surprise! That Cinderella and the ' Mean Old Step- Sisters story. You have a great gift and passion, it's in your heart, inside of you and the way you express it glorious. Keep " WOWing " us.

If I had not seen it with my own eyes, I never would have believed it. You are very talented! I Just bought a flipped dresser and after bringing it home it made my clothes smell like varnish and then the top warped and cracked. After some investigation turns out it was never vacuumed or wiped clean on the inside either. The top rails of the drawers had some varnish slapped on to make them look better. It was not cheap and I am in the process of trying to fix what should have been fixed. After sanding the varnish off there came an old musty smell. Your videos will be very helpful in getting this piece restored to its old glory. Thank You! I also evict spiders and it is refreshing to have a kindred spirit out there like you.

I just love the vision you have for these pieces. I'm learning a lot by watching you. I have this old tv cabinet that is 3 separate cabinets that sit side by side. I got it for free from the original owner. We removed the tv from the center cabinet and the speakers from the two side cabinets. I thought it was in bad shape until I started watching your videos. I want to renew this cabinet and make it beautiful and new again. If you can bring these beat up pieces of junk back to life, then I have hope I can make this cabinet the envy of the neighborhood. I am sure this felt like a longer video than what most people will watch, but I would have watched the whole process in slow motion. Thank you for sharing your incredible skill and attention to detail. And thanks for caring for spiders and bunnies. The world needs more Angies. ❤

Angie, after watching about 50 of your videos, I have to say - YOU ARE SUCH A BAD ASS! I love your skills and I dig your voice - so calming. Thank you for the time and effort you put into these videos. A fan for life.
