Absolutely brilliant mate. You were very brave knocking those threads out. I wouldn’t have been game to do that. Very interesting to see how to polish the lenses. 👍

While I love the restorations I equally appreciate the humor you inject into your videos😂
Great! Job! I’ve seen others use “clear wrap” to wrap the items.

Great work! But I confess that watching those beautiful brass parts etching broke my heart

Loving the Black Etching ink on brass idea. I've been hitting a wall for inspiration on a project I had on the back burner for a while, and your etching idea finally gave me inspiration on the next step to take. Thanks you very much! Cool video!!!

Great job! Next time, wrap the parts in Saran Wrap (Plastic) rather than aluminum foil, I think that will make you happy.
Those are so cool. I’ve never heard of ink etching until now! Nice job on the restore.
Why am I binge watching these at 2 a.m.? They're good, that's why. Relaxing, entertaining, unique.

Every time i watch a restoration video i expect to see the best way to restore the parts. Sometimes some materials like glass or old plastic require special attention and very few restorers get into trouble to do the needed research. You sir deserve a like for been one of the few, and show us professionalism in a very short video. Thank you!

Thanks to your useful video, this klutz gathered enough know how and inspiration to clean up a pair of long neglected silver-plate Chevalier Paris glasses with family significance. No presences at restoration here! However, with your calm example, I was able to take the glasses apart, clean and polish the various metals with materials I had on hand, and (most importantly), put it all back together. I wouldn’t have had the nerve to tackle this without your video, but now our glasses look like something worth saving instead of a piece of junk. (Also, thanks to the comment suggesting using Barkeeper’s Friend. Perfect for my non-silver needs!)
Great technical sense of "machinery".

Tengo unos exactamente iguales, herencia de familia, en perfecto estado. Me alegra ver como se recuperan estas antiguas glorias. Seguro que a traves de sus lentes han visto pasar muchos acontecimientos. Buen trabajo. Saludos desde España. 🇪🇸

I'd almost call those swaged or flared together rather than press-fit, bold move to separate them! Interesting how the lenses each appear to be two parts, and are painted black around the outside rim. Huh, ink-etching, is that like cold-bluing but for brass instead of steel? Very similar effect. Quite the intricate little thing, nicely restored! Might have less of that fuzzy halo of reflected light around the outside of the viewing area if the inside of the main body was painted black, but otherwise well done!
Beautiful restoration job.

Greetings from Petersburg! I can `t believe my eyes! Dude, you have not forgotten that you tamed us (not like someone from Switzerland, let's not point fingers at him). And now you must to please us always with your work. You now have binoculars, look how many of us there are. And we need your new works. And by the way, how are Mrs. Patina and Mr. Patina Jr.?
