Hey folks, in this video I restored an old Portable Brass Scale. This Scale is around 70 Years old. The condition was bad, since the brass was tarnished and the main body was rusted. So after disassembling the portable scale, I started with cleaning the brass and preserving it with shellack. After that i sandblasted all the parts, did some metal works and cold/hot blued every part. The hook broke while disassembling, so i made a new one.
I hope you have fun with the video! If you have any questions on the used tools, materials or the processes, write it in the comment section - i´ll try to answer as soon as possible!
If you want to support my channel hit the like, leave a comment, subscribe and share my work. It helps a lot! :-)

That setup for straightening 7:40 the curved end of the housing. This is why I love watching restoration videos. In about 15 seconds I learned a new technique for repairing tricky bent sheet metal parts that was easily set up and performed beautifully. Thanks for the tip!

Loved it
I* feel like if you got a plastic tote, and a small mist bottle, you could apply the cold blue solution using that, and just recapture the overspray within the tote. or an airspray bottle would work too, of course. and you wouldn't have these brush strokes? maybe more even coating?
Nice and clean!
