Get a noid light and test the injectors to see if they are pulsing when it won't start. Could be crank sensor or cam sensor. 383 swap it. 😆 probably crank sensor though. Best guess.

Wouldn't that throw a code for that?

that coil needs to be bolted down so it grounds but I also had similar prob and the iac on the backside of throttle body went hanky and it caused the same issue and the ecm wouldn't catch it then had the problem similar and was the sensor on the driverside side of throttle body I think its the tps senssor once I changed it its been golden for 2yrs and going still

how’d you made those custom headlights for 1996? I got a Dakota in my yard getting swapped out but I’m in need of headlights brother, give me info .
