Old barn becomes young architect's budget, elegant home-studio

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Alfredo Vanotti wanted to recover the old barn his grandfather had built 100 years ago in his village’s now-abandoned town center.
Working on a tight budget and mostly his, and his father’s, labor, he began to turn the former cow stable and hayloft into a modern classic home for himself and his daughter, and the garage into his home-studio.

Ah, this is the architect from a previous video, with the Brutalist country house in the Alpine region with the terrifying toilet and bidet. So fascinating to see how different his design ideas were for this house; the geometric lines of the appliances and industrial finishes complement the rough appearance of the structure and the soft lines of the vintage furniture to create beautifully balanced and inviting spaces. bella Italia, casa meravigliosa. Adoro questo paesaggio. Mi trovavo spesso in Ticino, proprio accanto.

I love this, honor your grandfather and his love life and hard work. A new house would never have the love and soul this house has. this is a dream house, restoring it, preserving it... This is absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere is priceless. Your ancestors are very proud of your ingenuity. You are definitely not crazy. Others will follow.

That part where he said that people left for the city was bit sad, but I guess that's just how things go. In past young people were leaving rural area heading to the town, but nowadays it looks like everyone is leaving smaller towns for life in the big, international city. It's a global phenomena, and perhaps it's good for people, its definitely sad for many communities world wide.
