Ola to make Semiconductor Chips? 😮😮

Ola to make Semiconductor Chips? 😮😮
Bhavish Aggarwal has already set up a company for that, where he will create silicon chips, a cloud infrastructure, and build AI Models.
And for that, he is planning to raise 50 Million dollars from investors.
But investors are a little cautious.
Bhavish doesn't have a good track record of turning products into successful businesses.
Ola Foods, Ola Cars, Ola Dash, Ola Money - these are just few names, which were launched but never picked up.

Ola was probably the reason Uber stayed in India hoping they could pull off what Ola did. Ola electric is right now doing better than other similar players in the market despite starting a little late. The guy is also almost done making his own cells for EV battery packs. And Ola money was also rejected by Ola drivers, they were the ones who used to tell you to pay them in cash. After all this there are people I see on LinkedIn and Twitter who always try to only highlight the defects in whatever he's trying to do. I don't think he's bad at business, I just think he don't have trustworthy people around him. We are those people.

Only a new company has to offer something cheaper they jump. We don't have brand loyalty. This is good for new brands to be launched, but hard to retain. India has to cover atleast operational costs. Discounts are always per clearance sale not new products

To give you an example of how expensive is semiconductor manufacturing, a lithography equipment like EUV stepper alone cost more than 150 million dollar and I am not even talking about etching, dicing, wire bonding and packaging equipment which wash cost around 20-50 million dollars.
