loooove these videos and seeing how much things have changed. like a double tuck basket!!! 🥺💖 or 2:18 WUUUUT!? Looks so dope but now we see why it's dangerous. traveling tosses like that seem terrifying, kudos to those flyers 'cause my hands got clammy just watching!

I am a new follower to cheer but some of the stunts from back the. Seem so much more dangerous and exciting than now days. I watched one just before called the Ferris wheel. Wow!! Have all of these kind of stunts been banned or something as you don’t see anyone doing things like that. Even the baskets and such seem more dangerous back then. Can anyone tell me any info??

Some stunts like these are still allowed but only in level 7, a lot of things are also illegal now bc theyre too dangerous but most cheer gyms just choose not to do the ones still allowed.

@@penelope_macdougall thanks so much for the info. Don’t get me wrong I think cheer is for hardcore athletes. Everyone involved is amazing. I love watching them. Yes I watched cheer on Netflix , but my daughter tried it when she was really little but didn’t stick with it. I wish she did but it wasn’t really her thing. Although I am in Australia and it’s not a big sport here. But I wish it was. People just don’t understand the extreme athleticism involved!!! But yeh ,just watching over the old videos and I can see how dangerous the stunts are. I get if they were banned. And why they wouldn’t choose to do some of them. I can see how injuries from any of them could be really bad. Thanks for letting me know 😊

@@megbyfield7895 replying to this soooo late but it is a big sport in Aus! I used to cheer all the way back in 2004-2010 when everything was just taking off and we first got the more “all star” type from USA. It’s definitely not as big as the US. But most unis have a cheer team, some high schools do and there are heaps of cheer gyms around and there are heaps of comps, aascf run most of them but there are some other cheer companies that run theirs, you can look up some of the high level teams on KZread! The best Aus teams also get bids to travel and compete in the US!
