Hi fellow! I loved your reaction watching the live action. So let me tell you just this: One Piece animation is much more "goofy" and "wacky" than live action. It uses the graphic to compose the jokes like long faces of surprise, pointed tooth when someone get angry, and stuff like that. so my advice is: watch three chapters per day (1 hour in total) until you cover this live action season (ended at episode 45). So you will take two weeks. Then ou can make the reaction to this point taking 3 episodes by video if ou want. Ah and one thing... I don't recommend you jump any filler, because you see... Even out of manga its an important part of the show and link "just anime" events. I say this cause a lot of manga lovers recommend the anime "by the book" version that some channels disponibilize. Go one by one enjoying or hating whatever appears. You will enjoy it! Usually the one who not enjoys are people convinced to watch but not used to anime in general sort of way. But if you already watch some anime, One Piece will hook you easily like happened to me. I was used to Saint seiya, Dragon Ball, Naruto and Bleach, when I started to watch OP in 2006.

The show is very different in the fact that you’re always actively following 2-3 different plot threads in the world of one piece. One of them consisting of whatever obstacles the straw hats are facing at the moment but the other plots are other events unraveling in the world as well like big name pirate groups challenging each other and the world government all consisting of completely fleshed out crews with backstories we haven’t even seen yet 1000 episodes in, one piece is a mystery shonen

I am a advocate of reading the Manga. It is the original work, 10-20 chapters can be read well per day. Anime's style is not for everyone, but in manga/comics the world is the best experience, especially since Oda shares a lot about the world in interstitial images. All chapters are easy to find on the Internet, and it's even easy to read on your phone. Mangas are an art form of their own that you should try out. And between the chapters Oda always builds interesting interimformations (in the form of fan questions or side stories of old characters and building the world).

Would love your OP reactions! Just remember that the show is old and the early episodes are different and the art style, the pacing etc it all evolves and it takes time :) Though I think the first episodes will be interesting as they cover the plot of the life action. Anime OP moves at a different pace, fights take time, but! emotional punches hit harder and deeper because everything is built up with a lot of care. the world, the characters and the heart of their stories are what makes it so special, if you ask me. it's so worth it to give it a go, even if you don't put your reactions up on youtube.

Needless to say, I am all for a full One Piece reaction. And you're in luck, since Netflix has started uploading the actual anime en masse, presumably because they expected a huge influx of new fans. I understand that the sheer size and scale of the show can be overwhelming, but a really nice thing about One Piece is that despite its length, it has very clearly-defined story arcs that oftentimes boil down to the crew reaching and then leaving a new island, which makes it relatively easy to put down and pick up again at those points if you ever get a little burnt out. And again, Netflix seems to be aware of that because it even divided up the show by its arcs. Looking forward to seeing what comes of this. :)

Hopefully they'll bridge that gap over time. It was almost caught up to where I actually left off too. I just feel bad for any new fan who accidentally skips those 500 episodes without noticing right away.

This is one of those great videos that spoils everything *only* for the people who already know the spoilers. Leading to the feeling of "wait, they didn't just show that in full view?!". It also says a lot that even this is basically just a superficial glimpse of the world; those places all have stories behind them, even beyond the scope of the already impressive main plot. One of the strongest points of One Piece is that this feels like a grand world the story is passing through, rather than a stage for it to happen on. And that in turn adds to the epic scale of the whole thing.

I started watching the series when I was 8, in 2003. The fact that it's still going on 20 years later and how far it has come - now with the live action making it even more popular to non-anime viewers - is an amazingly satisfying feeling. This live action and its widespread success was Oda's dream come true, since he's a huge fan of movies and stories in general. What could be more of an honor to his life work than this, even after his already received guinness world record? I think I share the sentiment with many longtime fans that it is always a great feeling to see someone new get into it. The fandom generally loves to share the love with all newcomers. And it makes me very jealous that you'll be able to binge watch and/or read almost the full series. 😊 Just enjoy the journey, and after a while you will not think of the amount of episodes as a "bad" thing anymore, but an exciting thing to have so much to look forward to~

I've been a long time fan of the Anime; I've been following it from the start. (I briefly fell off for a few years 400 episodes in because back then I was watching it on TV and it was taken out of the programm for a while and official subs weren't a thing yet, but I never stopped loving it and came back a few years later.) So as someone who has followed this story and loved the characters for about two decades now, I can say with confidence that it's well worth the time it takes to experience this work. It's one of the few stories that have run that long where it really feels as though that lengh and more is needed, rather than artificially provided. The beginning of the series is very fast paced, later on things slow down more, but in a good way. I've been enjoying your One Piece themed videos that keep showing up in my reccomendations, so I would absolutely be happy to be one of the viewers to follow your journey. Though I have to be honest: I wouldn't be among those who watch the day each video is released, most likely, but rather take a weekend each month and watch what episodes are there in bulk. Which isn't optimal for KZread algorythm, but you wished for our honest oppinions so that is mine. :) Regardless, like anyone else in the comment section I'm sure, I'll happily encourage you to watch it; with or without your audience, whichever works out best for you personally. I myself would reccomend the official English Subs over the English Dub, but that could be because I'm biased towards both the Japanese and German voice cast and was simply never sold on the English team who are doing their best too. The one thing I would *implore* you to do however, if you watch it, is to not let others ditcate your viewing experience. By which I mean A) don't follow lists on which fillers to skip, for you might miss out on a lot of classic and beloved moments and most fillers are Anime Canon and will be reffrenced back as such - and B) please, PLEASE do yourself the favor to watch the actual Anime, not the widely known fan edit known as One Pace that sets out to emulate to be closer in line to the Manga pannels. As someone who enjoys animation and the way various directors handle the adaption from Manga into Anime and someone who lives for the additional breething room and emotional impact created by sound design and editing and music and everything else that an Anime brings to the table... it legitimately hurts me to watch that particular edit. It has it's place, for a quicker re-watch to remind you of what happened if you've allready seen the Anime many times over but it is not a substitude for the original by any means.

Hell yeah! One Piece has one of - if not the most - detailed world of fiction, with a plot full of historical, mythological and sociological references, discussing various deep topics and themes, while telling a very well-knit narrative, always bringing again information and characters from hundreds of chapters before. And all this while maintaining its essence: a fun and funny adventure about a rubber boy who dreams of become King of the Pirates!

The video you showed is really breathtaking, very well done for the editor. For me is always joyful to see someone react to the anime after they watch the live action. I m really glad that if you decide to do it. It is a long story, and the live action mainly covers up to episode 44 and some other details around hundreds of episodes. The second season what I think it will cover from episode 60ish to 130ish and it might be a year later for coming out. You might be just starting reacting to the episodes which were covered by the live action and see the difference between them so you can have a blind view for the second season or just simply get going. Do it in you own pace.

The most awesome thing, for me, is that Oda makes a very detailed world not only for the main crew (Strawhats). But even side characters with the most minor roles have detailed background, with compelling motivation, and custom town/islands they inhabit (like those that pay food tribute for Big Mom). Fans like me can't recommend it enough, but yeah if you're interested you should dive into it at your own pace 👍

As someone who has been a fan of one piece since 2002 and has taken into consideration what it would take to catch up on one piece here are your two options: 1. Watch all the episodes or read the manga(whichever you prefer). Upside: you will know all the lore and details behind one piece which is very rewarding. Downside: Some arcs will make you slow down on watching one piece, almost to a point where you don't want to watch it anymore. 2. Find a speedrun episode guide and just watch those episode. Upside: you will catch up to one piece very quickly. Downside: you will miss out on so much lore.

i wouldn't reccomend that, there's a lot of stuff that is different or that the LA cut out that he would miss out on. He should at least watch it off-camera.

@@heckreacts Both perspectives would be fine, but I would rather have someone watch the anime from episode 45 and miss some secondary elements than having someone drop it at episode 15 because the pacing is bad and the story is repetitive

@@annegiii3446 the pacing and storytelling dont miraculously get better at episode 45 lol, in fact, other than loguetown, the arcs after the LA all the way to whiskey peak are really slow.

"People's dreams...Never end!" That end quote never fails to send shivers down my spine, especially knowing the context of the line and who says it. As others have mentioned, One Piece is a massive marathon, but it's a journey worth taking. It's one of the greatest series and stories ever told.

CORRECTION: THIS VIDEO ONLY SHOWS LIKE 10% OF THE WORLD OF ONE PIECE. There's probably tons of other islands that is not covered by the series since it will take litteraly forever to cover the whole world. The only places shown here is mostly form the East Blue and the Grandline (some are a handful from the other blues) but there's still tons and tons of islands out there to explore.

As someone who has been watching One Piece since nearly the beginning (I missed the initial start all the way back in the day, when it first aired on German TV and jumped on at episode 19 - and have been with the show all the years since) I just want to say this: One Piece is a journey of a kind that is unique in a way that makes each and every step worth it. From a writers perspective, the most impressive thingt to me is how nothing needed to be retconned at any point and there is only one noticable plot hole - which could easily enough be explained away by a character in question simply having forgotten a small detail. Whether or not you want to try and invest the time to react to it on your channel is your decision alone, so I won't say anything regarding that aside from the fact that I would happily join you for the journey but what I will say is that it's well worth the experience of watching it even if you don't share ith with your community and do it as something just for yourself. Whatever you end up deciding, I hope you have a wonderful day when this message finds you. ♥

But one piece is the first to made me cry. the emotional roller coaster in the show are breath taking. my friend rejected when I told them to watch the show becos at that time its already 600-800 episodes. He caught up in 3 months and became even more obsessed than I did lol
