    Behind the Scenes explains it. To put it shortly, it took a hell a huge spread sheet made by the lead singer making each frame perfect (remember shot in 2000-3500 fps) It got so complicated they had to make a whole new rig that's been rarely used. It isn't exactly one take since no technology can do this but most of the scenes where stuff is breaking was recorded very fast.

    This is truly the greatest advertisement I've ever seen. Saw this in a youtube ad back in 2016 and I cant stop coming back to it all these years later. Everything about it from the quality song to the impeccable production of the music video, and how they put it together just blows me away. OK Go never fails to make the best, most creative music videos of our time. Morton Salt made the right decision by making this all possible, cause it's one hell of an advertisement and I definitely won't forget who sponsored it. Props all around.

  • @Darkrai9087

    @Darkrai9087

    4 жыл бұрын

    MANINIMO honestly, that’s part of the beautiful thing about OK GO. A lot of their songs have some pretty innovative music videos to pair with the music, usually made possible through different companies, and communities. The One Moment, along with White Knuckles, This Too Shall Pass (the rube goldberg version), Obsession, All is Not Lost, and Here It Goes Again, the one that started it all, are probably the most memorable of their music videos.

    I first saw this in my school's gifted program, with one of my favorite teachers of all time. It completely blew my mind back then, and I still love it now. Sadly, though, a few years after I left that school, the teacher lost their fight with breast cancer, and passed away. I miss her dearly. But, the funny thing is, one of the only things I remember from that class is this video, which is literally about savoring every moment. I didn't realize it at the time, but it really was that one moment that mattered, at all.

Such a beautiful song, so full of warmth! I am a kindergarten teacher, my kids LOVE your songs and videos. They walk around singing your songs all the time. They understand the concept of zero-gravity because of you, and a couple of the more curious ones even know what entropy means, because we did a little demo to explain it. You are doing so much more than you can ever know. And you also bring me near to tears with your music. Sometimes with sadness, sometimes with joy. Merry Christmas to one of the greatest bands ever.

    I woke up this morning with the chorus to this song just running through my head over and over again. This song and music video has always been moving to me, but today even more so than usual: today is the 18th anniversary of the day that we took my mother off of a ventilator in the ICU three days after a horrific car accident (in which my sister was involved but unharmed-thank the Lord- and which I witnessed.) May 30, 2003 is the day she passed; it was and is a day of strange emotions for me and I don't know why, but I've been listening to this song and just letting the tears flow while doing things around the house. I also have two small daughters who I see growing and changing daily before my eyes. And my desire to stop time and just have things stay frozen in a moment is quite a real and relatable feeling when I hear this song. I just want a beautiful moment with them to stretch out forever but I know that this won't happen and that "all of this will end." Not to get too depressing, but just wanted/needed to share my thoughts. If you have loved ones, go, spend time with them and make beautiful moments with them that matter.

    If you want to sing along here are the lyrics👇🏻 You're right There is nothing more lovely There's nothing more profound Than the certainty Than the certainty That all of this will end That all of this will end So open your arms to me Open your arms to me And this will be The one moment that matters And this will be The one thing we remember And this will be The reason to have been here And this will be The one moment that matters at all So while the mud Reclaims our footprints And while our bones keep looking back The overgrowth is swallowing the path There for the grace of god go we There for the grace of god go we There for the grace of time and chance and entropy's cruel hands So open your arms to me Open your arms to me And this will be The one moment that matters And this will be The one thing we remember And this will be The reason to have been here And this will be The one moment that matters at all So won't you stay here with me And we'll build until we've blistered our hands So won't you stay here with me We'll build us some temples We'll build us some castles We'll build us some monuments And burn them all right down So open your arms to me Open your arms to me And this will be The one moment that matters And this will be The one thing we remember And this will be The reason to have been here And this will be The one moment that matters at all So won't you stay here with me And we'll build until we've blistered our hands This will be The one thing we remember So won't you stay here with me And we'll build us some temples Build us some castles Build us some monuments We'll build us some temples Build us some castles Build us some monuments This will be This will be The one moment that matters And this will be The one moment that matters at all

    Not really a Morton Salt add. they just help to pay for making it. It was really a promotion for a Charity called " Walking in her shoes". raising money for bringing in fresh water to African tribes so the women don't have to walk miles every day just to bring back, hand carrying water in jars to their home. Therefore.........Just walk in her shoes. p.s. those were all Morton Salt containers blowing up in multi colored splendor on the racks in the beginning.

    Arthur Brandon Nielsen Re-watch THIS video really carefully. It gives you a really strong clue as to what part was a single shot. ;) Also, was it the _camera_ that couldn’t move fast enough, or the _humans?_ The motion control camera rig was zipping around at speeds far too hazardous to have humans running around near it.

    Peak Idiocy They used a motion control camera rig, which is a robot. Industrial robots move FAST. (As a tech nerd, I find it amazing that industrial robots can move extremely fast, be extremely strong, and yet do that all with incredible positional accuracy.)
