Ijebu we r great
Glad to See Ojude oba has progressed to unprecedented heights. Still the fondest memories of my Childhood. My father( Amuludun of Ijebu land) is the last surviving member of Egbe Mafowoku with the Awujale if I am not mistaken. Their age group pioneered this event that continues to set pace in Yoruba land. Fondest memories of all of them and their brotherhood and support for one another. May they all continue to rest in peace. We still joke about how they jokingly come for each other at their meetings which they did in rotation at every member’s house. Awujale in my opinion is the most forward thinking Oba in Yoruba land. May Allah continue to bless him and my dad too. Good health and a happy peaceful long life. Obanta a gbe wa o!
This is so so lovely! Elegance! Colourful! Culture! Vibes! Yes, we Yorubas/Nigerians know how to celebrate and rock every occasion. So proud of my culture!
Watching from the U.K. My Dad is an Ijebu man, and always speaks proudly of the celebrations during Ileya. I can't wait to join one day. Proud to be a Yoruba woman.

@Kilarigbo Live: Ojude Oba 2023 at Ijebu Ode is not a cruise but a carnival. A very colorful event. Long live in good health and sound mind, Baba Kabiyesi, Oba Dr. Sikiru Adetona, the Awujale of Ijebu land. Journey mercies back home to all the participated diasporians. The mercy and love of the Almighty God heal and restore our Motherland to a New Nigeria in Jesus' most wonderful name. Oduduwa yi O gbe wa. Shalom.

This very beautiful, colorful and interesting, I wish other cities and towns in Yoruba land imitate and copy this. Although, other cities and towns have their own ways of celebrating this annually, but this is very unique. Watching from Appleton, Wisconsin, United States. Proudly Yoruba man.

The age grade system is the enduring strength. They take care of each other and support development project just like the ejagham people of cross river.
This is so elegant

So beautiful! Love it! What do the white calabashes contain and which groups are here represented? A detailed description of this gorgeous event and people would be nice.

Every third day after the Sallah Day known as Eid El Kabir, notable sons and daughters of Ijebuland gather to pay homage to the Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland. the groups are of different age bracket of three years, e.g (1980 -1982) . in the calabash is a present for the King. it is celebrated every Year. People comes home from abroad to celebrate the Sallah day and also use the opportunity to pay homage the third day.
