I think it's funny going from this 0:57, than skipping all the way to the end to 2:09:00 where Danny has lost most of his clothes and Vatos has some sort of Beekeeper helmet on. God I love this band

This tour was my first concert, at age 11. I loved the skeleton films they had as the backdrop. My mom took me and a gentleman next to us put me on his shoulders because I couldn't see anything! I'm lucky to have been baptized in the concert realm by Danny Elfman.

It sucks that OB never really achieved the status of a great classic band in the eyes of a wider audience. There wasn't a band like them before or since.

+Jan Hrubín Those of us living in Los Angeles in the 80's with access to KROQ 106.7 were blessed with Oingo Boingo. Anywhere outside of LA at that time they could only be heard on college radio. Maybe Weird Science or Dead Man's Party got some mainstream airplay but there were not many stations around the country ready for a band like Boingo. That said Boingo was much more than a Rock or New Wave band and we all knew it then. I mean look at what Danny has done during and since Boingo. Best live band ever for me, bar none! I like their live stuff better than any recordings. They were tight and had almost perfect sound and tons of demented energy. They had stage presence and theatrics. True talented multi-instrumental musicians with an actual freak mad-man musical genius as their headman and a musical orchestrator genius on lead guitar. Absolutely true there will never be a band like this again. BTW, saw Danny and Steve Bartek perform Dead Man's Party together last night (10/31/15) at the Hollywood Bowl, truely amazing and exactly 20 years to the day that I saw them at their farewell show!

+Steven Greaves Those were the days. I joined the Air Force in the early 90's. Put a big KROQ sticker on my suit case the day i left for boot camp. You would be surprised how many people in my many travels recognized KROQ. And knew about OB.

Still boggles my mind that Boingo would consistently do 2-3 hour sets, every show, until they disbanded. Most bands are done after about an hour or so. It's not lost on me how lucky i was to have seen them.

I just found OB this month, and I fell in love. I’d do anything to be able to go back in time and see them live. I’m gen z, so I had no shot at seeing these kinds of bands live. They just don’t make a whole lot of creative, thoroughly good music like this anymore. At least we have these videos accessible, grateful for that!

One of several times I saw Oingo Boingo was at a festival in Fresno 1983. There were a couple hundred Hells Angels around where I was standing which seemed weird to me. Thompson Twins -no reaction, The Fixx - no reaction, Oingo Boingo - Hell's Angels went nuts and were dancing around spraying each other with beer for the entire set, The Police - back to no reaction.

to all of you who were not fortunate enough to see BOINGO live, this is not actually a good indicator of a live show. BOINGO was one of the few rock concerts ive seen. Ive seen more philharmonic then anything. and a lot of punk in small venues. steve ignorant of crass was the last show actually w/goldblade and some other lesser known punk bands. anyway I had the privilege to see boingo at the Halloween show at Irvine when they debuted DARK AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL. 11TH row center.70% hot young women. by the middle of the 2nd song the only people still in their seats were passed out drunk. nearly three hour show with 2 encores. outstanding good time. these guys were with out a doubt one of the best concert bands ever. just as good as the album versions of songs if not outright better. these were MUSICIANS. make no mistake.

But listening to this makes me wish I would have sought out their live shows when I got into them in '85. The energy here is so great with still that reckless abandonment! They were so much more than an 80's band and so many more wonderful and essential parts to the whole and stunning greatness of Danny Elfman. We'll never see their likes again!

OMG, just found this on KZread for whatever reason, takes me back to greatest concert I ever saw..I’ve seen the Who in 83, the Stones in 82, AC/DC 8 times in 5 states, the Moody Blues 3 times (twice with orchestra), and misc other great rock bands, BUT, Oingo Boingo at Park City or Wolf MTN whatever it’s called now, outside, was hands down the GREATEST concert I’ve ever seen, the warm up band didn’t show and they played for over 3-1/2 hrs, I’ll never forget that concert ever..what a band!!!

My room mates at Westmont College in Santa Barbara dragged me to a OB show in '81, and I've been a Danny fan ever since. Just listened to "Only a lad" a couple days ago and realized what a prophet Danny was. Johnny was bad even as a child everybody could tell...

Absolutely love this band. Only really started listening to them from a random link a few years ago. Sad I know. More bands like OB today please!!!

C Brady, I heard a band tonight that reminds me of a young OB. They’re called Fencer. They don’t have the horn section, or a lot of songs published, yet, but the singer’s energy reminds me of OB back in the 80s. Badflower is another interesting newer band that has a unique sound.

I cant believe how good Oingo Boingo was/is! I've been texting music loving friends and bros the same message, most in disbelief and one reminding me "I told you so ...! back in college ... my roommate was from San Diego and saw them when they were The Mystics ..." 😆😆 DId I mention Oingo Boingo. Awesome. Danny Elfman. No wonder he retired from live performing. I'm getting tired wondering how he could keep up the pace and energy in 1987. Exhausting.

I was lucky enough to not only see Boingo for 3 years in a row for their "Halloween" shows but I also saw their next-to-last ever show at the Universal Amphitheatre. Truly memorable and legendary shows. Their "Halloween" shows (in quotes because they normally played about 3 shows, Halloween and two more on the 30th and 29th) were always at an outdoor venue called Irvine Meadows. Unfortunately, this place is long gone. Great place to have seen a lot of shows!
