Oilers Fans Have Waited YEARS For Someone Like This…

The Edmonton Oilers and Buffalo Sabres just made a trade! The Oilers receive Matthew Savoie from the Sabres and going to Buffalo are forwards Ryan McLeod and Tyler Tulio!
The summer of Jeff Jackson continues... I'm almost lost for words at this point. I can confidently say this is EASILY the best offseason the Oilers have ever had while I'll been following the team.
Guys, what are your initial thoughts on the trade, will Savoie be NHL ready by the start of next season, is Jeff Jackson done or is there still more to come....? Drop a comment down below as I read every single one!
Thanks so much for the support guys, y'all are absolutely crushing it and it truly means the world. Let's see if we can reach 5K subs in this video... that'd be dope. Tell you friends about AboveAverage and I will see you in the next one.
Don't be Average, when you can be AboveAverage!

Don't worry you can never beat trading away Brett Hull (741 goals in 1269 games) thats Goals not points. That's like being a 50 goal scorer every year for your entire career. For Rob Ramage and Rick Wamsley a 29 year of defensmen and a back up goalie. Brett Hull has the 5th most goals of any player in the history of the game. We even added in Steve Bozak. That is like Trading Draisaitl for Dan Vladar and Oliver Kylington but trading him when he is 20 not now. You would be fired immediately if that happened today and a criminal investigation launched into what happened. Calgary made not only the worst trade of its franchise history but the single worst trade in not only the NHL but in the history of all sports going back to the Olympics in Greece in 500 BC.

What seems odd is Oilers were just making a salary dump & were not expecting anything in return. Why would a non playoff team give up a prospect for a player they could get for nothing. Maybe this is all part of a larger deal for Mitch Marner?? Buffalo still has $13 million in salary cap to spend & not many teams have cap space to sign a Marner deal. Toronto is going to want some NHL ready players included in any Marner trade. Maybe McLoud is just one piece of what it takes to bring Mitch Marner to Buffalo.

I can't even call Jackson a tool, because tools are useful. Edmonton doesn't need the help in the areas that he is focusing on. He is literally doing the EXACT same thing that Peter Chiarelli and Ken Holland did. And suddenly he's some managerial god? Where is the Nurse trade for a stronger and definitely more affordable back end? With Campbell's albatross of a contract gone , where is the starting goalie? Because Skinner isn't it. Edmonton already has all the offensive firepower they could ever need and this moron is out there grabbing more when there are far more pressing issues to deal with.

Show me a gm that can trade Nurse 😂. It cant be done without holding atleast 25% of his salary. Ofcourse Oilers would need upgade on top 4 but Draisaitl did need a more solid winger and oilers need to resing few players so cap space comes handy. Skinner played well enough and can still develop. Ofcourse i would take Saros over him but that is easier said than done

Now hold on. I've been watching the Oilers since the 80's. These are trades the Oil haven't been allowed to make since 2002. Couple that with the fact that Jeff hasn't been named the official GM? Be prepared for later this summer, we could end up with a tenured GM coming in and taking the reins. If that happens, I fully expect the Oilers to trade ALL the talent they've acquired this summer for nothing, with 50% retained on all contracts, Nurse will get signed to a 2 year extension with a 2 million dollar raise that will take place immediately, and Draisaitl will be allowed to become a UFA with zero attempt to re-sign or trade at the deadline. This has been reality for Oilers fans since 2002, and I'm fully in the "I'll believe it when I see it" territory.

Both Hall & Eberle were selfish/poisonous, one-way/no defence 🤡’s during their Oiler tenure. Immature punks who partied nights before games, disrespectful to local women. Hall especially split the dressing room, with a younger core siding with his antics, terminally ruining any attempts at bringing in veteran players & coaching staff. We needed a bigger, physical & defensively solid d-man at that time. Any juvenile can reflect back at that period, out of direct context…you were likely wetting your bed at that time. Not my 1st rodeo, junior…had a Dynasty season ticket during the ‘80’s.

Wow 14 reply's. Greasers relax.....I actually complimented your team by saying ,during the regular season you people dominate. 80% power play against mighty teams like the Sharks,Hawks,Buffalo. You beat LA (shitty Team), Canucks (4 String back up), And Dallas who had to beat the last 2 Stanley Cup winners (out of gas). You finally came up against a real team and suddenly PP went to 8%...go figure. You had Evan B with 55 seconds left in game 7 spend 2 hours behind his net trying to figure out what to do.........Your team is well below average when a real team is in front of them......remember second place gets to golf like all the other teams....just a little bit later.

You're 0-4 Cully, not looking good. ❤️
