Oil Change on a CAT299D - What NOT to do
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Hopefully this can help others changing their CAT's engine oil. Not a fun project for the ill prepared. I recommend having plenty of shop cloths, oil drip pans, and a box of kitty litter handy for spills!
Also make sure you have your PPE; eye, skin, and ear protection is key!

Oh ya! Sadly a had second spill with the new oil drain pan as the holes were not drilled big enough for it! Ugh!
Watching this guy fumble his way through this has made my day better I don’t feel so bad about it taken 3 hours to find the AC charging port…

Glad I could help!
Next time just put the plug back in it. Even if it doesn’t have the threads tightened it will stop a majority of the oil coming out.

@@scottwolowich6492 So... Kind of. We've been filming episodes for a while now. I knew I wanted to launch a KZread channel when we started working on our homestead, and had more fun stuff to share. Now that we are a little further along, and because of the Pandemic and being furloughed, I have been able to focus on editing videos. Editing videos isn't as easy as changing oil!

Did you know Diesel engines typically have a lot more oil capacity? Now you do! Hahaha… get a large drain pan bro!

Haha. I wasn’t prepared for the size of that drain plug considering how small that engine is compared to my Ram 3500. It’s was a great learning experience.
