The two girls did well! With the theme 'I' Exy showcased her style in her song choice while Mimi showcased who she is as an artist. I think both did really well and both should be praised not pitied against each other. As a miracle, hearing Mimi's vocals was quite surprising and exhilarating. Others may say that she didn't sing much but she really did, she had more vocal lines than she ever had in Oh My Girl songs. Mimi showed who she is as a person, artist, and idol. The theme of Second World episode 1 was "I" and I am so glad that Mimi digested the theme well and showed to everyone that she's an all-rounder- her stage performance expresses who she is and the things that she can do. Definitely, Mimi understood the assignment!! ㅠㅠ She wasn't afraid to show off that breathtaking stage, she didn't limit herself, rather she went all out! + so glad she had fun making the whole process of her stunning performance. No bc i absolutely love the energy in these comments regardless of who everyone stans they are giving props to both sides and complimenting them both and being respectful.

For the round "I", Mimi showcased her abilities, Exy her tastes. Both interpreted the theme differently (it's an open-themed question so there weren't limitations in the interpretation btw). I think Mimi made the right sing choice that showcased her everything, and arranged it in a way that can stand alone beside the original. Exy chose a wrong song for the competition. If you've heard the original gloomy letter, it's as they said, hard to to surpass because it's such an impactful song. That said, this is just a single round. Singing really isn't her forte so I doubt Mimi would win the final competition but she deserves the win this round.

Funny thing is, Mimi applied as a vocal initially but was given a rapper role instead because she has potential (and another reason that i forgot lol) which is evident in their songs and through this show and different shows prior to this as well.

Mimi also had vocal problem too, she had a vocal nodule before(around thier debute year, sorry if i'm wrong). And Mimi also wrote her rap parts in OMG's(not every song). Both of them are idol and artist, they are good in their own way. But since this is a competition, i think Mimi stand out more, that's why she wins in this round.

oh my girl takes criticism with so much maturity. With that, they will know what should they improve more with their skills. They never take criticism in a negative way that’s why they keep on winning and being one of the top groups rn. Actually as what everyone thinks, normally when you're singing like what Mimi did it kinda shows that you enjoyed your performance more even though it is kinda tiresome unless you have a great breathing technique and that's why the Judges picked Mimi as the Winner. And as I see it here also, Exy just perform a SAFE song (On my part) so I think Exy should go out of her Comfort zone because I know to myself she was about to debutted as Vocalist on her Team and since Starshit saw her rap she just turned her into a Rapper.

It sucks that the show was never thorough with the criteria and what you can showcase with the performers. Like moonbyul said I also thought it was a vocal showcase only. Even if the show was made to show the vocal side of a rapper. ALSO I’m not hating on Mimi’s win I just felt bad for some who thought the same as me. You can’t be vague with a show and expect the competitors not to assume what they’re limited to. Hopefully moving forward they can do everything besides just vocals!

I felt bad for them not knowing that it’s was more than just a singing show. Not that they lost the round or anything. Those who won deserved it fair and square. The show in general was vague to me since it was created to show the vocals of a rapper. So I assumed it was the only thing they can do. Even if they never said that, you can’t just expect someone to not think that they can do more when the main theme of the show having rappers show their vocal side. Which is again what I stated in the comment. All I said was I sympathize with those who didn’t fully understand what they can or can’t do with the how, and how I felt the same way. Which was confusion. Not from who won but how the show went. Then I also stated that hopefully moving forward they can do more than just limiting themselves in the future rounds. I don’t know where you got me saying that they deserved to win or the round wasn’t clear enough but I didn’t. Wasn’t disagreeing or being better with who won. Just me seeing it from those who thought that perspective.

The gray area means it's open to interpretation. Tbh I also expected a ballad like the others. Instead of feeling bad for them because of Mimi's unconventional idea, I actually feel impressed and grateful for an out-of-the-box thinking style because it also changed my perspective. Sometimes if I lose to someone, even though I'd feel small, I'd also feel fulfilled at the same time if it's an honorable duel.

There are different types of singing. Mimi suits Lee Hyori, Hyuna, Blackpink, 2ne1 songs. Tbh, this performance really changed my perspective as well because I originally expected ballads.

Moonbyul commented that she was surprised because apparently it wasn't just about singing. My opinion begins with the description of "Second World" being: "The show will allow rappers to showcase their vocals through a singing competition." and it seems the judges take other aspects of the performace.

The theme for the 1st round was “I” and Mimi’s performance showcased what she can do. If the show is purely for singing, then they must have disqualified those participants who rapped and danced, right away. The judges have their own checklist. They weren’t put there for nothing. Blame the show for being vague. Do not subtlety hate someone just because they win over your faves.
