Glad to see more videos from you. You've really helped with my understanding of how they work. They had always been black magic to me, now I just need to learn how to get the most out of them

Thanks! Much easier to get your head around once you see the pieces and how they fit together.

Hello how are you ? I need help with a rear shock absorber on a 2014 KLR650, I am in the middle of Venezuela and no one makes repairs on these parts in this country. Could you help me repair it? Greetings

Would you look at the MTB stuff from Ohlins in the future? Maybe a TTX22M tear down or they fork damper or even the TTX2 air shock? MTBers we always think we invented it all but it's mostly trickled down technologies from motorsports and the comparaison is always interesting. Give us a some tuning thoughts, it seems MTBers have a LOTS of bad habits tuning suspensions... we are fed on marketing informations and not proper engineering. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Vincent. I don't really know much about MTB shocks. I think probably the same things apply no matter if it is auto, motorcycle or MTB. There is plenty of mis-information around on everything so it is hard to figure out the right path. All I can say is that sometimes logical info is not correct. Plenty of things about damping and how it applies to your vehicle are counter intuitive. Just don't be reluctant to try things the don't seem correct on their face. Be wary of whiteboards!

Hello its nice to see you again! while you were away i tried to use a floating face shim (mimicking a full stack float) cuz i need the dive under braking, but now i realize its too much (i have a bleed face shim, on rebound probably its stacking with compression) my next move was trying a thin face shim with a thin crossover, but i could get on my head whats the difference between two systems, wish do more videos of shim magic with dyno test, youre the best! i just wanna tell my father was a big fan of yours but he passed away while you were out

Hi. Sorry to hear about your father. I don't know any magic. Sounds like you are doing great without my help! As far as I know a bleed shim of any kind works both ways and it doesn't matter which side it is on. I like it on the rebound side as it is easier to see that the bleeds are lined up with the ports. It is hard to do anything without a dyno but when you ride it and it feels better you have done the correct thing. Keep up the great work!

Hi Greg. Probably an Ohlins road and track kit would be a better choice for your vehicle and its use. The problem with a custom kit for your car is that the front is a strut. The TTX46 strut is very expensive (but worth it!) and very hard to custom fit.
