I've been looking at videos similar and do you know if you can used two towletts, one in each hand for each side of the face, and cleanse that way with both at the same time

Hi, yes you can- just make sure you are alternating your hands as you lift away from the face in order to maintain "constant contact."

Do we use the same mannaquin head for hair and facial portions? or I have to bring 2 different mannaquin head?

Its your choice. We use to use the same one as the hair portion, but now we have our students take a shaved mannequin to use for the facial. You can check the Ohio State Board of cosmetology www.cos.ohio.gov/EXAM-SCHOOL-INFO/COSMETOLOGY-EXAMINATIONS-INFORMATION for all exam info including mannequin head requirements for more info :)

For the wipe did you just use paper towel or actual wipe ? And do they come around asking what each movement is or just a certain movement ?

I used a wipe bc it worked easiest for me. For Ohio they tell you to do specific massages during the massage- specified during this video ;)

Do i have to use actual cleansing cream exfoliant toner or can i use like odorless lotion for a few things?

They don't care what you use for that as long as it's labeled what it's suppose to be...so you could use water for toner as long as it's labeled "toner".

Hey i have a question, does state board have drawers or would we just sanitize and reach into our kits? And also do they watch you throughout or walk around and check?

The manicure table has a drawer for Ohio. They walk around & watch. My last class that went a month ago said they also watched them in groups.

For Ohio Cosmetology Exam: No, they don't have to wear gloves (it's not mentioned on the test packet that gloves are a graded task). Students just need to sanitize their hands 1st.

Do u have to do a steam towel procedure

No, we don't do a steam towel for the Ohio Cosmetology exam. You will have to check with the board if it's the Esthetic exam or if you're in another state.

my school has a makeup remover step for our state board facial (im in ohio). there’s something that needs to be labeled ‘makeup remover’ per my school… is this the same step as removing the cleanser? or is it the first step before the cleanser?

Cosmetology is fine with just cleanser instead of specificly using makeup remover too. We use cleanser to show removing lip & eye makeup. Then we use the cleaner to cleanse the face as well. For the ohio cos task lines it doesn't specify you have to use make up remover. You can go to cos.ohio.gov/getting-licensed/exams/exams click on "cosmetology" then click on "cosmetology practical testing information" & you can see exactly what they will test & grade you on.

I saw on their TIP it said nothing about makeup remover. I guess the handout my school gave me was a little old. Anyways, taking my test tuesday, so this and this video helped relieve some stress! Thank you!
