I’m still on my first play through of the game and as soon as I meet solas I was in love like holy Maker! Sadly due to the KZread algorithm his character has been spoiled for me but still. Love him to death! Honestly don’t know if I can romance anyone else and I want to see the Cullen romance.

The knowledge that even two years after he broke Lavellan's heart, Solas still calls her ,,ma vhenan”, kills me even more. He smashed my heart. Now all I have is dust.

"I know you will try..." Urgh, Gareth David-Lloyd did a fantastic job on delivering every single one of his lines, but I got chills when he said that. It's like he's already accepted the fact that the inquisitor will fall because there is no way she can defeat him. It's not even arrogance, just blunt honesty. And that is absolutely terrifying. Solas knows the extent of his power far better than anyone else alive does, except perhaps Mythal. We saw a glimpse of it in Tresspasser and that is scary enough... Anyway, this video is absolutely beautiful and made me feel things again and now I don't know how to deal with myself... Props to you though for making something so magnificently heart wrenching.

I fear no matter how unrushed it is... the story will lack what many of us seek... they lost a fantastic writer.. and Mass Effect Andromeda proves its cost..... in my heart.. i hope the next game delivers on the beautiful stories they have created thus far... in my head... I am trying to prepare for the disappointment...

You should always prepare for disappointment, in my opinion. If it is as bad as you expect it to be, then it won't be a surprise and you won't be as upset. But if it's not, then it's worth it. :)

Who else was caught up in the moment when solas rejected you the second time and said that you wanted to go with him even though everyone else would die?

My boyfriend is pissed that I've been crying over him for the last few years

If Cole stays a spirit, his little conclusion drawing at the end says something about him going to a friend who needs him, and I like to think that's Solas, and that Cole will help him. Or maybe even be vital to stopping him(?) Anyways, I was playing today, and had those two in my party and a banter came up where Solas was talking about how there aren't enough faith, wisdom, and compassion spirits, that they keep dying. And Cole says, "I'll try not to die then." Solas, "I'd like that." It's just, so sweet! Love those two. I hope Cole can help him, along with Lavellan ;-;♡

I've watched a lot of Solavellan videos, and so far I only love this and one other. You create such a beautiful atmosphere, and it makes me ache. Solavellan is by far my favorite of the Inquisition romances even though it hurts the most. He's so quiet and unassuming during the base game, yet so intense at times. And the first time he kisses her is probably my favorite. He's comfortable, in his element there in the fade, enjoying himself more than he really should, showing off a little. She kisses him first, and turns away, embarrassed, and he looks so intense, so pleased and affectionate, and just grabs her and bends her over backwards with the force of his kiss. And even when he pulls away, knowing why he can't feel this for her, he's still smiling. I love it so much.

Do you ever think about the fact that the only way Solas gives that he is different from the crazed, Blighted, evil Tevinter magister is because he isn't quite as happy to raze everything to the ground? Because I do. A lot. Just about Solas in general. For months on end. (It's probably unhealthy, but such is life in Solavellan Hell.) There is some extremely warped reasoning in that shiny head of his. I mean, what's his rush? The man is immortal! Maybe being around shems for too long will make him lose his immortality? Still, he spent thousands of years in Arlathan before he decided that something needed to be done. He has been awake for all of one year-ONE YEAR in his extremely immortal life. This entire time, he has been actively trying to prevent himself from seeing the truth of other people's person-hood. He's just like "Whelp, this thing that I did actually worked, but not well enough, so let's kill everything and go back to how it used to be because it's not like I spent at least a few decades contemplating what action should be taken with Mythal because the Elvhen were a little craaaaazzyy. (Possibly Blighted.) But no. One egg with too much power and not enough patience is going to destroy the world because he's nostalgic. *Insert Cassandra's Disgusted Noise I apologize for ranting, but it's late and this video made me think thoughts. May the Dread Wolf never hear your steps.

I actually think about it a lot as well. And yeah, it might be unhealthy to think about a video game all the time, but inquisition doesn't even feel like a video game anymore. There's so much life to it and I wish there was more to it. Someone who finally feels the same.

Exactly and then the events of Traspasser make the hart ache that much harder. I can honestly say that Solas leaving felt like i was breaking up with a real person and what i look for in these videos sometimes is closure. What makes his relationship more hrealistic than other videogames is that there is a feeling of they would be ok without you and even within the same game, Cullen his romance is sweet and cute however you get the feeling that if it wasn't you he would still find a nice girl and marry her. However solas makes you feel special you open his world, you were something that was not meant to happen but it did and he loves you.... I spend too much time thinking about him in general i am glad that i can talk to people about it

He is no god. Just a powerful mage (same as Evanuris). Elven immortality was due to being so close to fade (well...there was no fade, just a world of unlimited beauty of magic) so...he is no immortal anymore. Even Mythal isnt immortal as she cant keep her body from aging (flemeth daughters, transporting her soul blahblah). I want to join him in DA4, world without fade, with spirits, magic would be amazing. Let the new arise from the ashes of old!

Voice of Solas ohh... I got chills when I heart this voice (good work Gareth David-Lloyd) :) I want be with Solas and see Elven world from his time it could be amazing.

However, like I explained before if they think they can make a good live action movie then go ahead I just don't want this epic romance be ruined by people who will not have the same love for the characters as we the fans, and the voice actors who brought this characters to life with their voices. This is theoretical of cource, I doubt they will make a movie, but it's a nice dream. :)

I hate that even TWO YEARS after breaking up with Lavellan, when we see him in Tresspasser, Solas STILL calls her „vhenan”. I was hoping that my poor girl can move on, find someone else. Six days ago I decided to play Inquisition once again. I thought that after a year's break, this romance wouldn’t impress me anymore. After all, I've been through the game so many times, I know how it will end... Now I’m sitting on my bed with a broken heart and watching Solavellan edits to make myself feel even worse...I have a bad feeling about DA 4. That game will kill me.

You’re not alone. I have hope that the lead writer will give us a redemption arc for Solas. He said something in an interview about how previous lead writer would have likely taken a darker turn, and his take on how things turn out will be a bit different. Solas really moves me too. And when I listen to the music written for him, I feel there is real hope. I just pray that our inquisitor plays a big role in this. It would make no sense and we’d all feel so cheated if that character is left out and entirely sidelined, with no real role to play in his redemption.

This is AMAZING. I fell in love with Solas when I finished Trespasser and now I'm waiting for his return in Dragon Age 4. With this video all the emotions came again 😍

Why am I back here? After two years? Got myself back into the hell I had almost forgotten, but I couldn't forget the stupid eggs sincere words to my inquisitor. You took her heart Solas! Her feeble heart and crushed it in your own hand, whether by choice or not. Although I probably won't get my happily ever after with these two star-crossed lovers, I don't think I will be able to bring my next character to kill him if it is to come to that. Like my inquisitor, I honestly don't care how much of a monster he may become in DA4. I'd rather stand by his side and watch the world burn!

I finished my solas romance yesterday. My heart is so broken right know. I knew he would leave and break my heart so I romanced Cullen every playthrough even though I played an elve Y__Y And now I'm into this mess anyway :(

DAMN, SON.This video is so powerful I've had to watch it several times. The song is perfect and the editing is beautiful. DEM COLOURS I CRY. I thought I was finally over Solavellan but then I watched this and was plunged back into hell. I couldn't wait for the small moments of Solas' story arch while playing the first time. I had forgotten how emotive Solas' dialogue was and how intense his character became as you got to know him. Gareth David-Lloyd's line delivery is so loaded with emotion and breathes such life into Solas that you can empathise with him despite his desire to destroy the world. "You must understand, I awoke in a world where The Veil had blocked most people's conscious connection to The Fade. It was like walking through a world of Tranquil" gives me chills. If we have to fight him in DA:4 I will do so with a heavy heart.

By the Creators, this gave me goosebumps! Such a great video, good work!

Honestly, this romance will have me crying and sobbing again and again. The frustration is clearly there throughout the start. Solas was stepping over his own line to fall in love with our inquisitors, which makes it harder to think that we may have to fight Solas in the next game, even if we may not be the inquisitor. The attachment to this solemn elf won’t go and I think it will cloud my judgment over him in the next game. Dammit Solas! Why’d you take our heart if you knew you were destined to destroy it as well... Great video.. Will watch this over and over whenever I miss the game terribly

This is probably the best homage to Solavellan I have seen! Very emotional, especially for us still in Solavellan Hell. When I first played the game, I never thought I would romance any other than Cullen - I've had my eyes on him since DA:O. I romanced Solas just for fun initially- I fully intended to break up with him later on and return to Cullen. 6+ playthroughs later, I cannot- and have not romanced anyone BUT Solas. And all that was before Trespasser. After Trespasser, I consider myself ruined for any other man in any other DA game. If he turns up to be a non redeemable major adversary in the next game, I will join him in destroying the world- so that we can be together. Yeah, that's how bad I've got it.

The dialogue in this video is PERFECT. So amazing!!

I am still playing the Solace romance story, and this video is why I even wanted to try it. OMG, even after knowing who he is, I cannot help but love the romance story, like I can change the ending...somehow. My poor elf though, she is going to be crushed... and I am going to cry.

So my soul didn’t just shrivel up and die or anything. I’m totally fine. But this is fucking amazing! I mean it’s by far the best Solavallen video I have ever seen. I cannot express how much I appreciate that you included the heart wrenching dialogue, and the animations from all three games about the religious histories of Thedas. You did a nice job of reconciling the opposing mythologies of the humans and elves. The fact that a video game can gut me so much is actually quite alarming, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am really happy that you experimented with different imagery and clips to add depth to the story by approaching it from new angles. Solas’ inner turmoil totally resonated with me through this video, and Lavellen’s desperation was apparent through out the entire video. Sometimes when I need a good dose of tragic romance, with the bittersweet memories left behind, and the small ever present sliver of hope this video is my first stop. I’d love to see more of what you can do. Your ability to merge emotions with videos, voice-overs and imagery is phenomenal. I also really hope that we learn more about Solas’ history, his plan and why he has to destroy this world. After watching the Trespasser Epilogue I don’t really understand why so many elves would willingly march to their death to serve Fen’Harel, are they not aware that he intends to bring the apocalypse? Also is he just a super powerful mage, or is he an actual deity? So many questions. I would love to hear your thoughts. So the fourth one's coming to destroy us. GOOD.

I hope the next game that is coming out will let us have a closure to this romance/friendship with him. I had a male elf who was his friend and had a female that was his lover. I need them to have some sort of ending, even if it's his death though I hope it doesn't come to that. I won't be able to finish the game if I had to kill him, I'd just watch someone else kill him on youtube and bawl my eyes out.

this is sad this pairing gets me everytime but i love the angst *clenches fist* "i would treasure the chance to be wrong once again my love" just kill me.

I've probably watched this over 100 times by now and every single time it still yanks the feels out of me.

This is the third time I have commented on this video. The previous two times I have commented, I have lamented of the deaths I suffered in response to this video.
