    Absolutely brilliant, alt tuning on the guitar and heart breaking vocals. Thank God you are making music, Trixie

    If this was the style she normal played, I would buy every album she would put out. I can’t get enough of that blues, stressed voice sound. Need more songs like this.

    Are you telling me this kid doesn't have the talent to stand on her own!!!!! She's got more talent in her toenail than any member of Black Dub. Listen to this song....just listen to this song. Her alone in her kitchen...So Raw!!! So filled with soul. Let the kid fly. If the people who are handling her really loved her, really cared about her, they would do everything possible to launch her solo career.

    @TonyTony1492 She does the vocals on the Black Dub CD...released last year. It's a Daniel Lanois project, which equals AMAZING attention to sound. It's brilliant. Darryl Johnson on bass, Brian Blade on drums, Lanois on guitar and some vocals. It IS Trixie's introduction to the world. They toured last year..incredible show...Trixie is her father's daughter. Soulful, raw, and original. Check out the Black Dub videos here on the tube!

    I've listen to her dad forever, In fact he is the reason I started playing resonators. And especially using all those weird tunning, funny thing is I was working on a song (with no lyrics yet) that was kinda close to this rhythm and riff. Im so glad I never finished it, hers is obviously the best. I think it's so neat how her dad's music influenced our writing styles, I'm not saying were alike, but use some of the methods her dad would, and that to me is the power of music. Keep on going girl!

  • @NAIVADA
    @NAIVADA11 жыл бұрын

    So good. This girl is a musical wonder, she better go far as far as she deserves now, not to reduce her own talents, but I can't help of thinking of purity Jeff Buckey's music had, and a rootsier Fiona Apple with just as beautiful emotive songwriting

  • @KristerAxel
    @KristerAxel13 жыл бұрын

    I think Trixie is straight up channeling her father in this song. Her song sounds exactly like something he would have written, she sings it like i think he would have sang it, and her guitar playing reminds of him. Trixie has plenty of stuff that sounds way more her own, so it is not a dig that this one in particular sounds like the lost Chris Whitley song from Dirt Floor. Trixie - It is spooky the way you sounds like your father, and by spooky I mean awesome.

    This is my favorite of her songs. I feel like a few of her songs she's kind of reaching a little too far for herself---she still sounds amazing in those songs, don't get me wrong---but this one just seems to have a different, more "real" feeling, more soul, more everything.

    I'm not debating the talent of anyone having more or less talent compared to Daniel Lanois (whose 30 year career includes producing credits for U2's The Joshue Tree and albums for Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Peter Gabriel, Emmylou Harris and Willie Nelson) and Brian Blade (one of the best regarded jazz drummers around). However, having raw talent, and being discovered and well known, are two completely different things. If she's hitched her star to Lanois good things will happen.

It is not for a lack of interest!!! Let the kid fly, let me spend my money on her music. Include this song, include Strong Blood and include "Next Revolution." The kid has songs to release a debut CD. When will it happen?
