Oh Nyonya Chicken Soup / Sup Ayam Oh Nyonya

Ingredients for 6-8 pax:
• 1 Kg Chicken Parts (cut into medium size serving)
• 400gm Potatoes (cut into cubes of 4 pieces or 6 pieces depending on it’s size)
• 1 thumb size ginger (slice into thin pirces)
• 5-6 pips of garlic (finely chopped)
• 2 tbsp Cooking Oil
• 2.5 to 3 liters of Water
• 1 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
• Salt according to taste
• Chicken Granules according to taste
Method:
• Saute garlic & slice ginger till slightly golden.
• Add in water and wait till it’s boiling, then add in Salt, Chicken Granules & Dark Soy Sauce.
• Add in Potatoes & Chicken Meat, boil till the Chicken Meat & Potatoes become tender, approximately 15-20mins.
• Best serve while it’s hot.

    Thanks for sharing Tachi. Over here in Singapore, we also normally add taucheo for our Ayam/Babi O.

    I am guessing that the lack of tau cheo is a distinctive of Bibik Luan Neo's family's style rather than a characteristic of Melaka. I recall that chef Florence Tan uses tau cheo in her recipe.
