Don't worry everyone! Casper is ok! It's about 3 days later and he's with all of his brothers, still limping but not as badly. He's moving about quite well, scent making and patrolling as usual. A truly injured or ill lion will not perform those duties. So, Casper is in much better condition! We can all breathe a little easier.

@@elizabetemarquespessoa2173 they do have Vets that come out to check on the injured lions but only if they think it’s man made injuries not from fights with other lions or a prey injury.. not Biologists no 🤨

Casper with the wind blowing through his mane, a truly beautiful sight! He is such a handsome lion. But I'm sad to see he is injured. Glad he was able to get to water. Hopefully, his coalition will get meat for him, so he can and recover quickly. Lovely landscape. Look forward to your updates.

Poor Casper, his foot does look swollen but he still looks amazing. Lions are resilient and he is able to lick and tend to his injury which is a blessing. Poor baby it is obviously very sore but with rest and good food he will hopefully make a full recovery. That was a beautiful closeup on the side of the road, he is a handsome and majestic lion.

@@leonhargrove6178 They posted another vid today and Casper is with his brothers and healing well His limp is so much better and it's only been 2 days. Was really happy to see the improvement. Lions are so resilient.

Despite the injury he looks in great shape, the mane developing nicely, he is also bulkier than the last time, prime years for this beautiful young king, great footage, thanks

Like the guide says, I highly doubt it’s broken. It just looked bad because it was still from laying down when he was at the bridge. After walking to the river, it was much better and could support more weight, and this is only day 1 or 2 after the injury. He’ll probably be fine within a week or 2.

It is sad to see him injured, but it is clear the injury is not severe, as he can put pressure on his hand, and this means that there is no fracture and he just needs some time to recover. The important thing is to be next to his brothers in order to be safe.

Lionville seems to be having some pretty intense chaos as of late. This boy is a reminder of the DM injury. After several rests / food and love from the talamati ladies he healed well. They definitely are resilient. Hopefully all goes well with him. 💞

I wish him well. All the little scars on his impressive body tells the story of how hard a life a lion lives. Endure and survive. Nothing comes easy for the majestic brute. His brothers are key now. Thanks for the video and insight into this kings life . Great video !!!

@@paulibakker8880 I absolutely agree with you,👌if the veterinarians checked on him and gave some antibiotics his recovery will be quick.Yes a rare lion his definately a Gem and in my opinion he should be looked into.If it was here Kenya am 100% sure the veterinarians would have already darted him and worked on him and the rangers would keep watch.Casper deserves that for sure.I really hope he will get some help I kept thinking about him lady night wondering how his doing 🍀🌹🌿

In India they do dart injured Lion's and take them to an animal hospital. I think they got like 700 left and they really don't want to see their Lion's or Tiger's go extinct.

I know people will disagree, but he is a rare animal that is part of a endangered species, and we should step in and see if there is something we can do. Even if it is clean any wounds and give some anti-biotics. We have taken so much and killed so many lions we owe this guy a helping hand from us humans instead of a bullet.

That wound on his hind quarters doesn’t look like a Buffalo injury to me. I’ve seen lions recover from horrible injuries that made me think they were goners for sure… I hope he gets well soon.

Agree. Looks like bite marks on the paw, a puncture on the top (or left) side, and more punctures on the other side. Plus injured hip - looks like he's been in a fight with another lion (or lions). Now he looks like a brother in arms with Talamatis DarkMane... Poor boy has no pride to deliver his dinner :(

Takes two males at least to do damage to his flank ...weak point on male lions ...their teeth are positioned to severe the spine ...maybe one brother finally helped casper to escape? Because clearly he would not have escaped like this from two faster male lions with no major injuries?

At least he was well fed by his ladies thanks for showing a tiny bit more of the park! The signs and roads you turned on etc. I’ve always wanted to visit so seeing a bit more was a really nice change since no one shows those parts

They can't let that lion die. If he doesn't heal on his own in a couple weeks they have to intervene because Casper needs to live another 5 years or so so he could produce a lot of cubs. Could he have been fighting with one of his brothers over mating rights? I sure wish the Casper coalition had their own pride.

I love these videos, especially the lions. I do wish that the cars would stay further away from them. There are long range lenses for cameras so there is no reason to go within mere meters of them. No matter what you say, they are aware of your presence and that could alter their behavior. Please stay a respectable distance from them.

I do also grateful for the consistent update on Casper.. but those cars are a tad bit too close and why would they kept the engine running up that close anyway.. Imagine being badly injured/hurt as he is and so closely surrounded by cars with engine on .. and a rival coalitions approaching but he couldn't detect them due to the noisy cars .. and a fight ensue .. Well, they'll probably just gonna said _"We can't interfere with the course of nature"_ ..

It hurts me terribly to see any lion let alone the most dignified lion Casper hurt or struggling in any way. I wish u all could do more to help these lions when they need medical attention. I don't understand why vets etc intervene for elephants and other wildlife but not for lions???? Please do more for lions the greatest animal on the planet!!

Casper was asking for help lying in the middle of the road… He needed treatment by the vets. He was trying to communicate but… I think something is stuck in the foot..

WHERE ARE CASPER'S BROTHERS? DO THEY HAVE A PRIDE OF THEIR OWN? CASPER NEEDS ALOT OF REST AND GOOD FOOD... OUR MAJESTIC BOY IS STRONG, AND A SURVIVOR. I JUST LOVE THIS BOY AND HIS BROTHERS.

I’m not sure casper feels the same about whoever he blinked at as our house cats feel about us. He has no bond with anyone but his brothers. But yes house cats do it. All 4 of mine do it all the time.

Yes, the Sweni males control the N'wanetsi pride... I believe he meant Nsemani pride. But then again I could be wrong if the Sweni males abandoned the N'wanetsi pride, or the young shish males ousted them, but that seems unlikely to me, the Sweni males are tanks. Edit- I was referring to the new Sweni pride males... They are tanks.

Reply from an expert "The 3 old Sweni males who were in control of the Sweni pride till around 2018/2019 took over the N’wanetsi pride at the end of 2018. Only 1 male remains from Sweni males but his still with the N’wanetsi pride who are spending most of their time on the S100 The N’wanetsi pride consists of 3 mature lioness, 1 young lioness and 5 young males and the Sweni male is the pride male" And..."I looked at one of your videos and it is the lioness with the branding. I’m not sure exactly how many is in the pride but I’ve seen at least two of them 👍this is more than likely the Satara pride" Thank to my friend the Kruger Lion Expert for his expertise and thank you kkg108 and Styx for your input!

The vets should do everything in their power to make sure this beautiful specimen is conserved n I know many rangers will say that they can't intervene but we have seen what intervention humans had with the mighty mighty Mapogos 🤬
