There is NOBODY like Beth Hart-the astonishing talent; the vocal range, power, and control; the mesmerizing stage presence and performance; the music and song writing; the personal vulnerability and authenticity; and the devastating emotional intensity. Yeah, the piano is her thing, but she also plays guitar and bass in concert. Try the short list of 8 suggestions below: The line was...“Daddy ain't that bad he just plays rough / I ain't that scarred when I'm covered up “ Now her father never abused her, he just abandoned her and the family when she was 5 or 6 and she’s had major daddy issues ever since. From the age of 11 until the age of 27, she made terrible choices in men and suffered deep emotional and physical abuse as a result. The songs “Caught Out in the Rain” and “Fire on the Floor” are about addictive but abusive relationships. Today, she is fiercely protected by 3 key men: her husband (of 22 years) Scott who supports her emotionally; her manager (of 29 years) David Wolff who protects her business interests; and her guitarist (of almost 22 years) Jon Nichols who she makes music (but also with the other two long-time members of her band-bassist Tom Lilly and drummer Bill Ransom). 1) “Caught Out in The Rain” (From the 2018 Royal Albert Hall concert in London; about an unhealthy relationship with a dangerous man): kzread.info/dash/bejne/nq6YrMhweNTapM4.html 2) “Am I The One” (From the 2004 ‘Live at Paradiso’ concert; legendary performance of Beth’s original song written at age 16); kzread.info/dash/bejne/mo57la-gmM6-Y7Q.html 3) “I’ll Take Care of You” (Beth guest performs at Joe Bonamassa’s 2011 ‘Live at the Beacon Theatre’ in NYC): kzread.info/dash/bejne/fXqkyteifdunZ6w.html 4) “A Change is Gonna Come” (From Beth’s neighborhood night club, the Echoplex, in LA in 2010; Sam Cooke cover): kzread.info/dash/bejne/g6J9rpp6e7q4frQ.html 5) “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You” (Unofficial Music Video with sound, 2022; Led Zeppelin cover): kzread.info/dash/bejne/iKBsqKR_l8qapMY.html 6) “Sister Heroine” (about losing an older sister to AIDS): kzread.info/dash/bejne/p4hrwbyJeaTVc5c.html 7) “Take It Easy on Me”(about her vulnerability and surviving & coping with mental illness): kzread.info/dash/bejne/pGWtmKWKk9W7n7g.html 8) "House of Sin” (Huge festival crowd of 60,000 at Pinkpop 2005 in Landgraaf, Netherlands): kzread.info/dash/bejne/q4CqkrOuh5vOeNI.html

I love Beth Hart. It seems that all my favorite artists have suffered one way or another and have created such beauty out of it. The greal Mahalia Jackson said "Anyone who sings the blues is in a deep pit yelling for help" Bless you Beth ❤

I'm always amazed at the power people find when they can have a cathartic outlet or avenue to express all that is held inside. Wish I could have played this for many of the young people I worked with over the years! Fantastic!! Thanks for sharing your story.

I have been captivated by Beth Hart since the 90's and she just gets better with age (and sobriety 😊). You would probably enjoy: "Caught Out in the Rain" live at The Royal Albert Hall (2018) "Am I the One" live at the Paradiso (2004) "Hiding Underwater" live at Paradiso (2004) Thats a few to keep you going down one of the most soulful and talented rabbit holes out there. Thank you for sharing your joy and enthusiasm!

I love Beth, I love the woman she is, I love her voice and the songs she writes. I love her anger, her sweetness, her forgiveness, her crying, her struggle to feel alive. I love Beth because when I listen to her I hear her life so difficult, but also her strength to save herself. She, with her music and words, is a help to everyone as well. Thank you Beth for the gift you give to us.. With your always fabulous groups and you being the greatest, I never get tired of listening to her Love from Italy, from Rome.

This is one of the songs that made me a loyal Beth Hart fan. Her album Screamin’ For My Supper was her 2nd album and has many killer songs. She’s a phenomenal song writer and singer. Sometime you should check out Skin & Sister Heroine. She wrote them both for her late sister, Sharon.

Man you never disappoint, so few reactors, even ones that do to a lot of Beth's songs, ever get to this one, thank you so much!! Speaking on conveying life experience or emotion thru music, I once heard Sully Erna, lead singer of Godsmack, giving a speech to high school students, and he said......(paraphrasing) What is a single note? Nothing more that a plucked guitar string, or tapped piano wire, which causes vibrations in the air which travel to our ears, and a membrane in our ear feels those waves and transmits an electrical signal to our brains and tells us what note it is, it's texture and timbre. Why is it though, that these waves, invisibly moving through the air, when grouped in certain ways, or combinations, can evoke such profound emotions from every part of the emotional spectrum depending on their pattern. The one thing every culture, every society, and every empire, pauper to king, has had in common since dawn of civilization, is music in some form or fashion, it's truly a universal language. I believe that is the universe's way of telling us we belong, as small and insignificant as our little blue n green speck of dust suspended in a sunbeam is in such a vast universe, we still are all children of that universe, and connected by our mothers beautiful gift of music. Not exactly in line with the point you made, very well I might add, but similar, and I found it quite profound, and only shared it because I knew it was the type of thing you'd appreciate. Take care, again, great reaction!!

I've been involved in the arts for years both performing and mixed media ( painting...etc) and have had success years ago even have a piece hanging in a museum in San Francisco I've never dealt with drug or alcohol addiction but guy did get addicted to the pain. And no matter how good you are, you never feel good enough. We tend to self-sabotage as a result. My first record deal at the age of 18 was my last. I was so caught up in my artistic vision for this album (37 years ago) that I refused to follow the direction of the label and producer. I pretty much got banned for life by my label and my contract made me and all of my music their property for a very long time and they made sure I suffered the consequences. But, had I listened and still made a terrible first album it would have allowed me more freedom on a second and possibly third. But..youthful artistic vanity got in the way and ruined any possibility. I love Beth and have seen her live once.. She is the real deal.
