This song strikes such a chord with me. When you suffer abuse as a child, you cause suffering for yourself and others as an adult. Until you get help, the cycle continues. It's taken me 57 long years of rehab, jails and mental wards, to realize my self worth. Life is finally good. I'm finally good. Thank you Beth.

I too have lived what she lived through I was a severe alcoholic drinking to the point of almost dying I was in liver failure when I got to the hospital the doctors didn't have much hope but I hit my knees and I made a deal with God if you would let me live I would turn my life over to him I am happy to say I am now 5 years clean and sober and I absolutely love this song I Love You Beth❤❤❤

Hey Michael. Dunno why but I feel like I need to leave a reply to your message. Not bipolar myself, but my ex-wife and mother of my beautiful children was/is. So I lived it every day down to the very core of my soul. Even when she walked out and left me to raise our incredible daughters on my own. Not her fault. It's everything good and bad about life, magnified 1000X, yeah? But Beth captures it *all* in her music, and this performance especially. It's...just...a beautiful gut-wrenching piece of ART. SO real and heartfelt and honest. For all the people suffering with any kind of mental illness and feeling like they're "not good enough", I hope they find this music and find power in it. ❤

I first heard her in the fall of 1999 when she had a pop radio hit with “L.A. Song.” Then I kind of forgot about her until just a few days ago when this song came up on one of my daily Spotify playlists. I’ve been listening to her constantly since!

Once in a while you find someone like Beth who can connect on a visceral, emotional level, and it catches you off guard, I wasn't prepared for this, I cried like a baby

Finally an audience that knows they should shut the hell up when this is 'given' to ya. Love it! Thank you for that.

Clearly one of those artists who leaves it all on the floor of the stage by the time she finishes a performance. Her passion is genuine.

I still come. Sometimes I listen to Beth and think an accident has happened, that Beth never meant to reveal so much and I start to feel disappointment that someone is going to find out and cut the song before it finishes. So I lay low and pray I get to hear the whole thing. So far, the prayers have worked. No, I dont have to know the "inners" of anything, its the way the story is told that may mean more. It does for me. I hope that Beth always feels and believes that there is a limit --- the height of the sky.

Beth Hart needs her story told in a movie, She would have to star in it because there's not a singer alive that can sing like she does. I am a monster fan, if she comes anywhere close to where I live I will be there.

Today was my first time hearing this lady sing an watching her on stage, are you serious I'm going to the first blues festival I can find and listen to this lady sing until my ears bleed, there's no praise high enough for a child of GOD such as she is, God Bless her and keep her all the days of her life AMEN.

She sings this song from a place inside her that a lot of people can never understand......she silences the crowd with her story and her voice....her song brings even the toughest of us to tears. Giving you a hug is on my bucket list. God bless you Beth Hart....may you sing for the world and the down on their luck people forever.

Beth channels her pain and experiences in such a way that every song she sings comes straight from her soul. The song becomes her. She can wail, she can phrase, she can tell a story. If she wants to sing sweetly she can do that, if she wants to cut she shreds. Not many artists can do that.

@Dreamboat Annie: The first time I heard Beth, she sang “The L.A.Song” & fell in love with her voice & her ability to phrase & the whole package! Then it was like she just disappeared & I figured it was the drug monster. Years later, being a huge Joe Bonamassa fan & Lo & Behold, there was Beth!! She has this natural vibrato in her voice that, along with the rest of the package makes her head & shoulders above all others in her genré!

This song is raw and it’s a beautiful testament!

Unbelievable performance of Beth in this song and what she said before. Drove me to tears almost. Beth you´re awesome !!😍 Love you and your music !! The more I listen to you the more I love it! ❤
