Mono is also my favorite. Watched them live a few times, including this year (in Hamburg). Also seen if trees could talk opening for them back in 2016 or 2017 and in May I'm planing to watch If God was an Astronaut. Hopefully the whole corona virus situation will get better until then, otherwise it might get canceled. Some of those othe bands you listed are great too! I'd love to see We lost the Sea live some day.

I lived in Hiroshima for almost 2 years. Beautiful city, great food, especially their okonomiyaki. And the nicest people out of all the places in Japan that I have been to. The people being so nice there actually made me feel a bit more guilty, since I'm American, even though it all happened before I was even born. But I had been to the Peace Park many times, including the annual memorial. I also had a boss that was a schoolboy when the bomb hit and still had burn scars on his arm and told me his story first hand (in Japanese). He was pretty lucky apparently, since some of his classmates he said he actually saw flesh dripping off their arms... Yet, despite all this, he was one of the best bosses I ever had. I miss him (although he properly dead by now...) and my Japanese Hometown of Hiroshima. I guess this is a Swedish band and all, but I can say that certainly parts of this album fit in with the city and history of it.

When I was in the Navy, my friends and I visited Nagasaki, which was an airburst. The city wasn't as nice in manner(s) as your experience. I can see why, we visited the "bomb" museum, and the statues as well in their park. We were the only ones in the museum for about an hour, and then the tour buses of hundreds and hundreds of school kids started to pour in the building and at the park. Seeing and reading all of the horror stories after the explosion is a reality check on how devastating nuclear war is. It is a terrible thing war is. We decided to leave the park not because of guilt but out of respect kinda of thing. It is a very somber memorial. They bombed us, we bomb them, etc. I always felt at home by the younger generation though, but the older ones, no so much, but I get it. The road to healing and learning from everyones mistakes is a long one. Since then, I have met many open minded and kind Japanese from all over. I also did the gene 21and me, and way way back, I have some Japanese in my gene pool! Talk about new perspective. Your post reminded my of my visits there and I am glad you had a good experience there! Peace:)

You should not feel guilty, you did nothing. The fact that you are American does not imply that you are responsible for the bombs that were the fault of OTHER INDIVIDUALS in the past, you only share the nationality characteristic with them, not the responsibility. You are a INDIVIDUAL and should only feel responsibility for your own actions. And you should know that what the American government did was less worse than the Japanese fascist government did. The general who commanded of the Japanese army killed about 5 million people on the east coast of China and then it was him who initiated the attack on the United States when he attacked Pearl Harbor. I'm not justifying either side or war, I only wanna to show you that the other side maybe have done a bigger mistake than your country. I really hate wars and government, I hate to see people believing in politicians and government, as they start fights with other nations and then send the population to kill themselves in thousands or millions in these wars.

It's spelt "whoa". I correct this often not because I care about someone spelling it wrong specifically but because I don't like it when words/spellings change when enough people get them wrong. "Whoa" and "yeah" are probably the most commonly misspelled words on KZread, and if people are going to correct every "their/they're/there" mistake I might as well point out the one that most people genuinely don't even know about. So yeah, it's spelt "whoa". Tell your friends, or whatever. Also, have a good day! ... Four months ago.

Haha, okay? xD I'm not a native speaker and I actually thought that there's not much of a difference. As in, you spell it either as this or that, depending on your preference. And how do people misspell "yeah"? Like... "yea"? Either way, I edited my original comment, if it gives you a peace of mind. Good day to you, sir/ ma'am.

Man, post rock and shoegaze is QUICKLY becoming my new favorite genre. It started with a song by loathe called "heavy is the head that wears a thousand crowns" I saw a comment that said that song reminded them of deafhavens legendary album called "Sunbather" and then I read a comment mentioning "Holy fawn" so I checked them out and now this comes up after listening to them. This is the beauty that is youtube. Connecting us and us suggesting people with new music. This is beautiful.

Best random video ever clicked... This is the type of music you walk out in the misty morning or the grey day and the world is zooming by you but you're just being you walking around, this is the type of music you make forever memories with you get into some crazy shit and try to run from the cops or owners, you travel across country to find your new forever home, you're running to the airport to finally see your loved one again after year of being apart, this is music you put when you don't have words to explain something but you want to tell someone what they mean or the shit you've been through this is the music you put at the end of a movie and not just any movie you put this at the end of a childhood movie, a growing up movie, a we're broken but we'll always love each other no matter what movie. This band has found a new follower, love the bands name and music. This is the music I want our generation to be remembered for!

There was a time, at my last assignment as an instructor supervisor, where I worked swing shift. 1500 to 0030, give or take a few minutes if I was feeling generous. My drive home was between twenty and twenty-five minutes and there was never more than a few other cars out with me. In the fall, I would roll down my windows and let the warm midnight air rush around me, with this album (or If These Trees Could Talk's "Bones of a Dying World") playing loud enough to hear over the wind. The music added atmosphere to an otherwise mundane and lonesome drive. It brought calm, a little introspection, and in the case of Drones, joy. Whenever I play this album (or Bones), I subconsciously traverse what can only be described as a fourth-dimensional corridor, leave my present state for a short moment, and I'm taken back to those humid nights, those dimly-lit and quiet highways, the distant and mute stars that spied upon me from light-years away. Amazing what music can do.

Every transition in Holding Rivers is pure catharsis. It's like sunshine breaking through the clouds on a stormy day. It's like a cool breeze in the middle of summer. It's like hearing the voice of a loved one after being separated for long lengths of time. I wasn't entirely sure such feelings could be transposed into music, but Oh Hiroshima is doing it. Thank you Hiroshima and thank you OP for making this available to so many.

Post-rock is something which is hardly described properly. The feel, the relief and the confidence in self is given by post-rock. It's whole life felt, the emotions flowing, the plus points in our life is seen when our eyes are closed. This genre is indeed something. Something extraordinary. Thanks to all the guys out there who make us feel what they feel through this genre. Thumbs Up 👍👏
