Flake once stated in an interview that the dangerous thing are not the flames or pyrotechnics, but the lack of oxygen to breathe, because of the fire.

This is how Rammstein plays with you. The performance is funny and Flake is always the victim 😁. But the lyrics are pitch black. The song deals with a true event in Germany. Two men make an appointment for dinner. On the menu is the penis of the one. It is done by mutual agreement. The "victim" originally wanted to taste for himself, but could not make it due to the blood loss and died. The other ate of it. Furthermore, he hacked the victim into pieces, because you also want to keep something for bad times. He got 10 years in prison. In prison, he became a vegetarian and wrote a book about it. The case went around the world. The song is basically a guide on how to prepare good food and served. 12:30 That was very close to the guitarist. He had to turn away. "Ich tue dir weh" live madison square garden. You will be able to laugh a lot. 😁

With Till, he is a performer. Many of Rammstein songs ,such as this (based of famed German cannibal Armin Meiwes), are stories and Till puts himself into the characters in those stories so he changes up his voice to reflect that instead of just singing a song

The outfit he uses for the performance was just for the song but he kept most of the blood on him and went from there for the rest of the show. Till actually has massive stage fright and is very shy so the outfits he uses and the "characters" he play through the shows help mask it all up. Same story goes for the fire and stunts they do throughout their history, a lot of it was added due to that.

The song "Mein Teil" or in english "my piece" is based on a real story happend in 2001 in Germany where a man cut off "the piece" of another man and ate it while the other was still alive. Hours later he killed that man and ate most parts. What is more freakish about that is that the "victim" asked to do exactly that.

I'm a little disappointed that noone seems to react to "Mein Teil" from their newest tour. As to expect from Rammstein, their show only became more over the top and that's good. In the newest show Till pulls out a third even bigger flame thrower, which is a huge artillery cannon that fires from the other side of the stage at Flake. I can't imagine what they will do in the next tour in a few years ...

Flake is like the outsider in the band. He's usually always on the receiving end of something. The story goes that he never officially joined the band. They kept asking him to join and he kept saying no, as he wanted to be a doctor and didn't see his future in music. Then he just turned up to practice one day and stuck around. He's often credited as "doktor" before his name as a nod to wanting to be a doctor

  • @tosa2522

Flake is registered with the GEMA (Association for Musical Performance and Mechanical Reproduction Rights) as a "Doktor". He thought it had to be original. Just like Christoph is registered there as "Doom". Flake: "Now everyone wants to know why I call myself "Doktor". It's really true that when I was a kid I wanted to be a surgeon. But I also wanted to be a firefighter, pilot, inventor or musician."

In German, when two vowels are together, the long version of the second vowel is pronounced. Mein sounds like "mine"; Teil sounds like "tile". Rammstein is pronounced "ruhm-shtine" and not "ram-steen". BTW, Mein Teil translates into "my piece" or "my portion".

I'm always confused when I have to say which band is my favorite, if it's Rammstein or Nightwish. Rammstein shows more real and also the worst side of the human being, the bad, raw side, where humanity is heading, the cruelty, how primitive we are, the scream. Nightwish shows beauty, art, magic, enchantment, science, hope. Sometimes I can't listen to Nightwish because I get so emotional and I can't stop crying. Tuomas enters my brain and puts me in touch with deep emotions. Till always reminds me that even though I'm a nice and very calm person, I also have my rough and primitive side. I love these two bands so much and my dream is to follow them on tour in Europe. I hope one day to have money for it.

React to Rammstein "Links 2 3 4" (Left 2 3 4). React to the Paris Live Video. It is a politically charged song, taking aim at early allegations by the media saying that they were Nazis due. Sometimes it's just heavy metal slapstic. 😂 The lyrics remind me of old fairy tales in the way they are worded. Very classic German writing style. The delivery to me is reminiscent of like 1920 singing, when they pronounced their words in such a way, with the rolling rrrrrs and stuff, maybe so it came across well in vintage recording technology...

This song is based on a true story of cannibalism. "Mein teil" is German for 'my part' or 'my share', and is slang for 'my penis'. Two men met following an advert, and they cut off one man's penis and ate it together. Afterwards, with permission, the 'butcher' killed the man and ate him. BTW, in German pronunciation ei is pronounced ai (as in Eisenhower), and ie is pronounced ee (as in Marie).

So you say you are curious if he is dressed like this through the whole show... it depends. Now, in current tour, he dressess up as a butcher just before the song. Here is a minute-short video showing the process, see it and you won't regret 😆 kzread.info/dash/bejne/loyeu7abfta-opM.html

Flake (Flah-kuh) had to be persuaded to join the band - he gets' very bored during the shows, that's why he got the treadmill (we all know that that it's entirely computer controlled and there is a track playing underneath - who cares?) Apparently the worst part of being in the pot during the flames is that all the oxygen is sucked out of the air, so timing his breathing is important, he usually jogs back to the hotel after a gig. If you want to see Till at his most demonic, try this video from the excellent educatedmarine. The same as Mein Teil, this song is inspired by a real life event. kzread.info/dash/bejne/k2xmq6SbmLe9f8o.html

They do not wear any kind of fire resistant gel or coating or what's on their bodies. No idea why people keep spreading that rumor. I believed they used that stuff on their hair at one point , but never on their bodies. Nothing but makeup. And instant coffee.
