My first kitty, Randy, did something similar with a crocheted ornament. It was a bell with a jingle bell inside, and he totally claimed it as his. I think my parents tried putting it on the tree several times but eventually gave up, and it became his toy. He could jump up several feet to catch it while I jerked it around on the string I attached. He was the absolute best flying cat ever! I swear he would go over my head sometimes! Amazing kitty! He's been gone 30+ years, but I can still think of so many good stories about him. RIP Randy.❤

As a cat owner of multiple, this is why my decorations and tree are on ceiling 😂😂😂

I want to believe Simon has a secret room that the cats don’t know about. It’s beautiful furnished and filled with Simon’s most valued items. He can only visit it when the cat is safely outside.

I see Simon’s Cat knocking all the presents off the table and all I can think of is my cat Sparkle; she knocks EVERYTHING over with her tail!

😂😂😂 That took me back 35 years to my soulmate's - a greyhound - first indoor Xmas, at c. 5 years-old (we got her from a ex-racer's rescue place). We'd only had her 2 months by then and she was still adapting to her new life. She was also a really funny and mischievous dog. Unfortunately we were at my in-laws' place. On Boxing Day she discovered the turkey had been returned to the dining room for lunch. We heard, "Let go! Give that back!" and rushed into the room to see my sister-in-law with her arms wrapped around the majority of the really big bird and Maggie holding onto a leg as if her life depended on it! Before we could do anything, the leg gave way and she scarpered with it in her mouth! A couple of hours later, I had an ominous feeling and headed to the living room, just in time to catch the 8+ foot Xmas tree from falling down as she tried to get a chocolate decoration off it! It's been 29 years since she was gone (she had a bad accident whilst trying to go after a rabbit, whilst on the lead 😢) and I still think of her and miss her every day. Why Simon's cat reminds me of her is because greyhounds are basically cats in dog suits, but unlike most, who will spend most of the day on _their_ sofa (be prepared to give one up!) she was such a little monkey (okay, not so little at 29" to the shoulder), always getting into one scrape or another. She didn't have a mean bone in her body, she was just way too curious. Even her predilection for catching rabbits had been a trained and bred instinct, and she only ever caught one. Boy, did she look pleased with herself! And was very surprised when I kicked her straight out the back because of the fleas covering it and now her face. She wasn't impressed by the immediate "bath" she got with the hosepipe 😂!
