My son use to work at a wastewater treatment plant. The damage those wipes do to the pumps and valves add up to 10s of thousands of dollars. The company’s that say they are flushable should be made to pay for repairs.

I just imagine that at some point some drain clearer through the years fell face first into one of those filled with chocolate soup. What a day. That said there is something fascinating about watching these videos and these drains getting cleared back to proper working condition.

I remember many years ago I stayed at a mates house in Walton next to a football ground. There terraced house had an outside loo that was flushed from the kitchen sink waste water. The toilet had a flipper base. Have all these loos been changed to modern cistern flushers ?

Ive always flushed wipes never an issue. I do however have cast down pipe and probably underground pipe to the sewer which is at most a 3 metre run.

You may not have problems now but you potentially may do in the future. Downpipes can still get blocked with wipes as seen in many drainage videos. Regardless, they cause issues further down the line. Do yourself a favour and stop flushing them, just put them in the bin
