The song by Solar is called "Blues", released in her latest mini album "Colours". This song doesn't have a music video but it is definitely worth a try to get Mrs Coach interested. Moon Byul's latest release is a Full album titled " Starlit Of Muse" which I highly recommend that you check it out! Whee In released a full album last year too, it's titled "In The Mood", and you definitely shouldn't miss it too! Hwa Sa is still preparing her album (attended her fan concert last weekend which she shared that an album is in the making) but the last release from Hwa Sa is a mini album titled " Guilty Pleasure" which you also should check it out!!

MAMAMOO just celebrated their 10th Anniversary last week so Coach is spot on. You shoud really look at a version of "Decalcomanie" were they perform in front of an audience, the fan chant to this song is INSANE. I will suggest a MAMAMOO song that the MV will have you laughing. • *"UM OH AH YEH"*

This is the edited version of the MV. The original was taken down after only a short time because Solar's scene in the elevator looked very non-consensual. Solar said she was OK with it, but they replaced her kiss with the image of her holding the flowers. It's very common for fans to say they would like to hang out with them. They have so much fun together that we all want to be a part of it. The problem is they are very shy around strangers and their whole mood changes quickly when someone joins them. Now, if I can just figure out how to get past that being a stranger part.

Elegant is just one of the many moods of Mamamoo. If you only saw the videos for songs like Um Oh Ah Yeah, Aze Gag, 1 CM/Taller Than You, Pink Panties and 1, 2, 3 Eoi! you'd have a totally different impression of them. Not to mention the tv performances of Waggy where they dressed as beagles. lol Every member of Mamamoo has a successful solo career - they were the first group to have all members chart on Billboard as solo artists while the group was still active as a unit. Their live and recorded solo stuff is a significant part of the Mamamoo experience so if you haven't explored their solo discographies you might want to add that to your to do list along with the subunit Mamamoo+. Since they returned to Korea a year ago after the My Con world tour they've been concentrating on solo and subunit activities and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Scheduling group activities has gotten more complicated since Hwasa and Wheein left RBW, but, as they recently confirmed in a 4 way video call on their 10th anniversary, they were, are, and always will be Mamamoo and they're damn proud of it. We may not get another full group song or album for a while but if anything they've been more active than ever. In the last year they've released 2 full length albums, an EP, and a bunch of songs as soloists besides the solo tours by all the members, a tour by Mamamoo+, and other stuff like Solar's run in a musical theatre adaptation of The Hunchback of Notre Dame for a couple months in Seoul followed by a national tour. 😂

Their voices are phenomenal

Decalcomanie is a French word for a type of artwork that involves transfering images. The English decal comes from it. The vid extensively uses mirroring. Primarily the parrallellism of the four members portraying first serious kiss/sexual awakening. Each member does have extensive solo work. Just this year Wheein, Moonbyul and Solar have dropped albums and Hwasa is coming out with one in July.

It might be REALLY difficult to get that reaction video onto YT. MNET is INFAMOUS for blocking everything or striking channels. So just a heads up for that.

Ok, Solar just released her new album a few weeks ago, the 6th song is titled Blues and is a bona fide Blues song. There is no MV but there are some live performances out there, fan cams mostly or some promotion shows but those will likely be banned by youtube. The version of Decalcomanie to see is the Queendom performance, which they did use for their 2021 version on their Mamamoo The best album. Queendom either the live performance or the live TV show performance, this one breaks during the song to show reactions of the other contestant groups(park bom, Lovleyz, AOA, Oh My Girl and (G)I-dol) mamamoo won queendom. The Destiny and I Miss you performances are awesome also, especially I Miss you. They also did a cover of the AOA song Good Luck(should watch this too) AOA covered Egotistic, which they did a pretty good job on. Back to Solar, Blues will make anyone love blues. She also is credited with writing some of the lyrics and composition. Mamamoo can make anyone love any genre. They debuted in 2014, 3rd generation. however they are the first group to break the mold of runway model perfect appearances, going against the very anti woman culture in their country. They also are the first female KPOP idol group to focus on Vocals and true performances not super sexy outfits and extreme choreo. There are some 2nd and 3rd generation groups that credit mamamoo for being so mold breaking, doing things other women before them just would or could not do.

@@CoachCastTV Fyi these performances are from the concerts in Seoul that kicked off her solo tour. I'm sure de68a recommended them because there's no MV for Blues and Solar kicked ass in these live performances (I preferred the day 2 version, which just means you should watch them both lol). All of them have been doing solo tours this year. I saw Wheein in Brooklyn. The other members have stayed in Asia and the Pacific Islands so far and haven't announced any dates in the US or other western countries.

Mamamoo, along with Idle and Blackpink, are groups that lead me to an interesting observation: A couple of years ago, a bunch of new girl groups started debuting (certainly in response to BP's massive cash flow), and some faced criticism for inappropriate lyrics, wardrobe, choreo, because they had underage members. Groups like Mamamoo/Idle/Blackpink had an advantage, since they could - and did - come out of the gate showing off their sexy side (Boombayah?), whereas, those with minors have to walk a very delicate line. No huge significance here, just something I noticed. This type of song is the kind that I'd like to see Baby Monster do, since they clearly have the vocalists to pull it off. "Like That" was a step in that direction, but we'll see. Back to Mamamoo, Hwasa has some solo's. "Maria"" is fantastic, and addresses the psychological issues she faced due to fan hate campaigns about her looks and overcame, and, if Coach wants to test his heart condition, there's "I love my body", which deals with the same issue. ;)

Solar 'BLUES' and then switch to ' Colors' 😂 you'll be in for a rollercoaster.

Got to give Coach props for remembering that much of the info from the comments, because pretty much all the info was correct. Mamamoo is just so good it might actually be ridiculous! They are hilarious, gorgeous and filled with so much talent it's almost silly. This song is one of their first really big hits, even though some still argue they are a bit underrated. The ladies are trailblazers in a lot of ways and in a culture that is not always kind to that sort of thing it takes a lot of guts. For instance, Solar performed with a queer dancecrew recently, something that is not exactly norm in South Korea, and she did it with a big smile on her face. Maybe you guys should react to k.will's "please don't"(it doesn't have subtitles)and "no sad song for my broken heart"(this one have subtitles). It is actually a continuation of the first one which has released after 12 years.The singer doesn't appear in the MVs as he hires famous actors. So yeah he's vocals are amazing, maybe you can check him out. Also love your reactions❤

In Korea it refers to a look a like. Someone who is a mirror image of another person. Hence the two people at either side of the mirrors in the video. In relation to Blues, You should play Red House live by Jimi Hendrix if possible.

I forgot to tell you to check out another girl group T-ara, they were my favorite until Mamamoo came in the picture lmao, they're another bunch of queens that deserve more recognition, sadly they lost a lot of members through the years but they're still going. They debuted in 2009. Here are some of my favorites songs: Sugar free, Number 9, Sexy love, So crazy, Cry cry, Day by day (the MV is a mini drama, it lasts almost 16 minutes so it's ok if you don't want to watch it lmao)

The 1st Generation of KPOP was back in the 1990's. I've been tempted to split the earliest groups off into a "Zeroith" generation, to keep generations roughly 7 years. 2nd Generation kicked off circa 2005. Exact dates are always debated by fans, I don't match "official" narratives, no doubt I will be disagreed with. I'd say 3rd Gen kicked off 2012, an era of artist involvement/crediting that began with EXID and _ended_ with the debut of (G)i-dle. Performance-not-vocals oriented 4th Gen should begin somewhere around 2019. Any talk of 5th Generation is at least two years premature. That's MY story and I'm sticking to it.

Décalcomanie basically means look-a-like to Koreans and may not just refer to appearance ie a fat person (like me) and a skinny person performing the same actions might be referred to as décalcomanie even though they don't look exactly the same ...i think. Just picking up on some of the lyrics, I think it's saying "(just like Décalcomanie) I feel the same way as you do"

"Decalacomanie" is where the word Decal comes from...noun. transfer [noun] a design, picture etc that can be transferred from one surface to another, eg from paper to material as a guide for embroidery. So from there, Korea took the word and kind of uses it to refer to people who look alike (mirror images). So it's mostly used to refer to look-a-likes/reflections. As in the M/V... Solar/Wheein and Moonbyul/Hwasa And Yes there should be an age warning on this... NOT very Subtle LoL

This is the best vocal group ever in Korea and would have a hard time finding one better is the US. Despite their popularity they are still the most underrated group i have ever seen. @imjustherefortheks I guess my point is they are the number 1 group talent and music wise and except for a period in 2019 they were never ranked or had the views of groups like BP, Twice, Red Velvet, etc. Mamamoos music and vocal ability is way better. I thinks that makes underrated and poorly promoted.
