Note: For your melee weapon, the new shovels would make an excellent pairing with this build (I made this video before the new shovels were introduced hence why they weren't part of the recommendation)!

Would the shovel be a crusher/mauler/bulwark killer? Instead of the bully club :)

which one of the shovels is the best? And do we use same perks?

Especially when they take Light 'Em Up!
That intro was peak. This thematic build was amazing actually finding a cool gimmick and making a pretty decent build around it is amazing. This build is perfect for my friend that basically likes running around with his stubber and never letting go of the trigger. Awesome video and build. I hope you enjoy your holiday👍
Just found 1 Ogryn use this build yesterday, easiest Maelstrom Damnation for me. That Ogryn blasted all creeps and I can freely rain bolters to elites and montrosities without have to check my back every 2 sec.
Absolutely awesome intro dude, your videos just keep getting better and better! Entertaining AND informative. Enjoy your holiday and thanks for the scheduled upload 😀

Yes! YES! YES!!! BULLY THEM MORE IN THE NAME OF THE EMPEROR! 😁
This is ABSOLUTELY the kind of wild build I was looking for. This looks so fun.
It's been so long since I've seen a good "Meet the..." reference! The team shot at the end was an awesome addition. Great video as usual Ryken, and fun theme build!
Intro was stellar! Great nod to a legacy we love along with combining the old with the new as well as some clever techniques. Great job!
This intro was incredible. Well done!
Just when I was starting to think your videos couldn't get any better you drop that itro on us. That was hilarious. Awesome build too! Thanks for another great one.
Bloody hell, not only does the Achlys do its job, but it tears through Daemonhosts and Plague Ogryns like a hot knife in butter
This build looks awesome, can’t wait to try it
Awesome video. Gunna try this out, thanks!
Thank you for making an awesome themed video and dutifully explaining the details of the build. I see a lot of "gungryn" in pick up games on T5 and Auric missons, and generally speaking they make the squad groan a bit as they hoover up all the ammo and nades while getting their HP ripped off by melee chaff because they simply refuse to put the gun away. They usually end up being a liability for the team that drains resources while not managing to contribute to the rest of the team having an easier time getting through the mission itself. This build though, with the care put into it, and the reasoning behind the choices of blessings and talents is quite nice. You also stressed the importance of how much ammo you are going to be using, which hopefully the community understands is a warning that you do _not_ want to be "that guy" when the team is already starved for ammo. Solid video, solid build with a purpose, and good information for the ogryn community. Probably not a good idea to run this build on "no ammo" modifiers in auric, or if the team doesn't have Vets with ammo restoration aura.
I don't even watch these for the loads of incredibly helpful info anymore! Soo good!

it is crazy how similar my build is! only 3 differences. loveds the intro gave me a good chuckle.
This build has been a blast. I've been doing skullcrusher builds since the talent rework but this is definitely going into my rotation. I will say with the addition of the new shovels with the pickaxe special attack, the XIX shovel has been my go to, it's not perfect but it helps with carapace or some flak specials when needed and the light attacks aren't bad for horde clear.
Love the videos. I've been trying to find an alternative tank ogryn for a while
You earn a like from the intro alone. This is the reason ogryn is my favourite.
Dude this is absolutely top tier darktide content
What a beautiful intro 😂, nice video as always 💪
Great intro! I need try this build.
LOVED the intro ♥
awesome build thanks
Brilliant intro The Zealot moaning after that rager massacre was hilarious
Fantastic build, can't wait to play it. Been kinda bummed about how often I find myself being tossed around by shooters as Ogryn, so this might be my chance to get back at them lmao
this build is sick mate! thanks!!!

I like just having the heavy stubber mixed with a heavy melee build (charge + heavy hitter) and then just because I love big explosions turning hordes of bad guys into fine red paste adding on the osfg. I've been using this while leveling up my ogryn and it totally also works with point blank barrage
Awesome Intro, thanks 4 that
Lol that intro was great!!! You should do more intros like that haha. Thanks for this build I will try this now
Nice guide, a solid, fluffy variant of a popular Glugger build with FNP :) Super funny intro too, got a like for that alone. Minor correction though! Feel No Pain, despite what it reads on the keystone, is NOT global DMG reduction. It is only Toughness Damage Reduction.
I was just commenting to a friend that I’ve been utilizing the classic “jump and rev” tech from tf2 with my ogie. Glad I’m not the only one who plays him like the heavy!
HAHAHAHA JUST LOVE THE INTRO MAN !!!! And love Sasha too... Mine is Ginger hehe
I always felt like my gun lugger build is a bit lacking, this looks good though, I'm going to try it :)
that toughness regen is hilarious and wonderful
Love it lol, nice vid
Combining something with TF2 is always great. Dziękuje za ten build do heavy wepens guy :D
nice one , thank you Sir.
That intro was hilarious!
That intro was perfect.
😂 Love it 🎉 best Intro i've seen in a loooooooooonnnnnnggggg time
I think your videos are some of the best Darktide content on KZread.

Your teaser made me sub
That intro was hilarious
My gunlugger build utilises the 30% rending for the ult, instead of the burn stacks. I also have the alternate blessing choice you outlined here, with the chain of hits tearing through packs of ragers, crushers and maulers. What it lacks in horde clear (its still spectacular) it more than makes up for in special killing power. Even the Achlys eats through armour no problem.
@cherryrook8684

Burn will out DPS rend most of the time even against armor and especially against monsters. I too ran the 30% rend at first because i thought it would do more overall dmg but i switched to burn later and the difference is quite noticable. And like Ryken said you can stack burn so incredibly fast with fire rate (works even with Gorgonum) compared to just 30% rend. Even after the burn nerf a few patches ago its still vastly superiour to the rend in my opinion
@richardmenz3257

@@cherryrook8684for machine fun yes, for single fire or low mag weapons the rending it better. Kickback with rending buff is fun.
9:30 the fact your ability was .5 seconds away from being ready after that barrage was the icing on the cake
I saw "themed build" and expected fun, but nothing epic.. I was wrong! This is a superb build, insanely tanky and fun to play. Well done mate!

nice intro!! :D
9:13, the rager pack. When he runs our of ammo, the psyker is basicly orgasming....like most people would after such crazy sustained fire :D
now I really want to see a punisher canon or multi laser for the Big Boi
this is how I always played ogryn even before the update that gave us this version of the game
You get a like just from the intro alone. No matter what I see next you have my support.
That intro was fire! LMAO!
No lie the intro is fuckin great, even got a map that looks like dustbowl.
that intro...what a time to be alive...
Love this build. It has that "Hold my beer" feel :😜
With the new stimms, we even have sandvich!
Achlys go BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT 😁 I made a build similar to this one and it was VERY Fun! Just holding down both mouse buttons and mowing down anything in the Emperor's name! Finding M O Boxes / "Sharing" M O Boxes can make Big Man have a very hard day at work 😒
Apparently, the gunlugger keystones that are supposed to save you ammo do next to nothing, so you might as well go for the toughness.
fuCKING AWESOME INTRO :D
Amazing into love it.😊😅😂❤
Hello Varlet.
Seeing your tf2 team picture recreated is making me want to see a build for all the TF2 mercs now! That'd be a lot of fun.

The though has occurred to me...and it would be a challenge to do so!
This is my primary ogryn build except im using the koruk with charmed bullet instead of blaze away, use the cluster box of hurt and use point blank rending instead.
I've been playing heavy stubber non stop since the perk patch, it's just too fun. I've got more dakka than an ork
This gets a thumbs up already due to the intro
classy machinima ❤
Top intro
How do you get floating numbers for damage and stacks?
Gave this build a try and I like it a lot BUT the problem is ammo consumption, if you have 3 other ammo users on the team(especialy vets) it maybe hard to keep your sasha going without hurting your team. now melee is an option but that kind defeats the point of being a heavy weapons guy. Also the melle weapon I found worked best was the blue foldable shovel, its light attack deals well with hordes and the specia heavy attack takes out maulers and crushers quickly
@facehurt7606
Ай бұрын
Melee will always be the default horde clear in the tide games.
I've been running this build and it feels great! You always make such informative videos. But I think the flak perk on the Achlys is wasted, because the Achlys does such a low amount against flak at base, 25% of a low number doesn't give that high of a boost
@rykenxiv
7 ай бұрын
Its mainly for the Burn damage! A few patches ago, Burn damage against Flak was nerfed pretty hard - so the Flak Perk is to compensate for some of that damage loss (and just as well since most Elites have flak amour)!
With the fire from light em up you could call it the Huo-Long Heater instead of sasha
What perks do you use on the weapon?
how do you refill ammo killing enemies?
My first Ogryn was named "Hevvyer-Wepunz-Gy". I found I wasn't really a fan of the Stubbers, though, so he's been retired in favor of a less meme-y Ogryn. X)
Been trying this build for a good while and despite my doubts about it, it's really good, a little tough to get used to not having charmed reload but the ranged resistance and dps is amazing
Looks terrific. I thought you were on Holiday?

It was scheduled in advance :)
So Inspiring Barrage seems super rare to get, I got every Blessing except thay one, i have made so many stubbers and i upgraded them to blue rairity and it just never drops
Is there a way to actually watch this build on a shard or something? Is quite difficult to navigate looking for the talents on the talent tree all over the place
They really need a Heavy Weapons Guy skin
What stats are you looking for on the weapon? Is Stability the dump stat?
@rykenxiv
6 ай бұрын
Collateral would probably be the dump since stagger isn't that critical on the Achlys. Stability helps keep your shots a little tighter which helps with reaching enemies a little further away!
Are you going to do more Team fortress classes for Darktide? Also I loved the way this video was done thumbs up and full marks.
@rykenxiv

Very likely, but more planning is needed if I want to maintain at least an equivalent standard!
I gonna try Mortal combat Kano build for zealot
Hey, does anyone know what he has that is showing the status effects on enemies and players, and showing him the number of rounds he’s gaining? Is it a mod or setting or something?

Its from the Debuff Indicator mod!
question: I noticed you have a ui element that is showing stacks or burning. is this a mod? or is this in the menu's somewhere?

Its a mod! Debuff Indicator I think?
I've had my own conspiracy theory that the Heavy from TF2 is an Ogryn that got sucked through the Warp into a different universe.
Can you show us your build? the link above not working.

they really should have gotten the tf2 heavy voice actor for the ogryn
Is the "Stay Close!" aura any good for the Ogryn?
@rykenxiv
7 ай бұрын
It's not the best since most classes will have their own methods of Toughness Regen. When you consider that, the additional 20% doesn't really matter that much!
@Mestari1Gaming
7 ай бұрын
@@rykenxiv That sucks. I wish it was that you and your allies in coherency suffer -20% less toughness damage or that you and your allies in coherency gain +20% more toughness from kills.
I started ogryn and found this build in general needs 20 skill points and a high damage gun the fire damage in close range can have you solo daemon and plague ogryn as long as you don't have to kite it the high capacity is fun but not effective
I wish there was a curio perk for +Weapon max ammo, and a weapon perk for +weapon max ammo. Also I wish that it were possible to change all the perks and blessings on a weapon, just that after two changes it got much more expensive. 3rd change would be 2k plasteel and 1k diamantene. 4th change would be 4k plasteel and 2.5k diamantene. Final change would be 6k plasteel, 4k diamantene. I don't think this would be unfair at all. It would mean that instead of luck, effort would be rewarded, and I think the Emperor would approve.
@scuchtern4849

Why you complain about this if they made it much more easy to get all of this stuff.
I tried this build and auric maelstrom ist best for it. Just watch out for Vets with Survivalist. The more enemys there are ,the less ammo probs U have 😂
Wouldn't Charmed Reload be better than Blaze Away? I know you want the toughness boost from the reload, but I'd wager the continues 2% stacks will be better than the 10% boost considering reload time.
@ruffwm
7 ай бұрын
you have very low crit, so you rarely crit that much making it a waste of a valuable perk slot
@jacob5700
7 ай бұрын
@@ruffwm He's already rolling with "Massacre" upping his crit chance with up to 8%. If the idea was to "gun-tank" he could take +Flak damage or +Maniac damage for another +5% crit for a total added crit chance of up to +13%.
@rykenxiv
7 ай бұрын
You'd have to give something up for Charmed Reload though... You need Inspiring Barrage since its part of the core build. Blaze Away helps ramp up your damage - including the damage from the burn stacks! I have tested out if Charmed Reload would help, but its just not consistent enough to be worth taking over Blaze Away
@jacob5700

@@rykenxiv Sure, but if you're tanking damage shouldn't be your main priority. But, no reason to change anything if it works as is.
