It took me a while to figure out what you did, but I eventually did. I’m old. Thank you so much. I bought an N64 to only play this game again. I did a no-glitch run-through, but I wanted to do another run. A fun run. Thank you, again.

The troop duplication was new for me. Your item dup method is redundant. You don't need giants or go into the level. Method 1 Add any troops up to 5 it doesn't matter, take any item and put it at the bottom and top with empty spaces. Then select two teams and just move any NPCs and overlap to another NPC. Then repeat until it fills ups. Method 2, after finishing method 1. While still in the character menu after completing methods 1. Then you can sell your duplicates and go in reverse order until you see 55/01. Technically it's 255/01. Save/Quit and reset the game. You'll see it stays put, sometimes it'll display 99 instead of 255. No issue, you can always redo the glitch.

The glitch I explain in this video is not for duplicating items, it is overflowing the item slot memory until it reads into character ids in the next formation. This lets you get items you don't currently have. Yes, after you have an item you can duplicate it, but this video is explaining new glitches used in the current any% speedrun of the game. Normally you would have to advance time to the 50th and 60th birthdays to get the items shown in the video, which takes about an hour of walking around on the game map. The any% speedrun does still use the duplicating items glitch to make money to afford buying meteor strike.

I've got a dumb question. Is there like any real gameshark trick or code to get any story character you want in your party? Like it'd be fun to take Deneb out of the tutorial and into the game.

I incorrectly state the unit ids 6 minutes into the video for the items you want to get the items for the speedrun, but I correct it later. 28 and 29 give you the speedy horse statue and the xp scroll. It's also why you want to start with an army formation with as many non-soldier units at the start of the run answers, so you can get to those items ASAP.
