It definitely helps with some games like Halo Infinite, which uses a lot of texture streaming, and the apps are a little snappier, but still doesn't help with any kind of framerate advantage. If your HDD has died (like mine did earlier this year with my Xbox One and Xbox One S) replacing them with a SSD is a no-brainer.

In which case the SSD helps with the frame rate, as this is processed by the Xbox One's CPU/APU. Not to mention that this depends on the developer. But in terms of loading, it definitely improves.

Before the Series X I replaced the HDD in the one X to a Patriot P210 SSD and it made a heck of a difference with loadings times & responsiveness. I used the One X since 2019 and have used it with an SSD for nearly 2 years. Only got the series X a few weeks ago and honestly there's not much difference unless playing a series optimised game with heavy graphics. The One X does amazing. I dont think the average gamer would notice a big difference, visually on 1 X optimised titles its hard to see any difference, it is smoother but graphically looks near identical. Going from any Xbox with HDD to series S or X then ofcourse you will see a greater difference. Amazing consoles none the less, not sure why they get so much hate!

What’s crazy is how heavily Microsoft leaned into the Xbox One’s ability to be used as an HDMI passthrough for Cable TV boxes. Now Cable Providers just have apps similar to streaming services Lol. Also, if anyone is still paying for Cable TV these days what are you doing? Microsoft might’ve won this generation of the console wars if they omitted that part from manufacturing as well as software development.
