Wow, bringing it back OLD SCHOOL! I used to have a side hustle modding OG's. I still have one of these with the original Xecuter3 faceplates with my LCD. Still fires up and plays all my old games and emus!

these little lcd faceplates are by far the most swagged out mod for any console ever made

How'd you get that dope XBlast OS menu to look like that? Is that version available on xbins?

It's on the hard drive. I tweaked the background image with a retrowave wallpaper. It was kind of wonky, I had to keep scaling the image around and adding it until I was happy with how it displayed.

I like that the LCD looks as old as the xbox itself

The controller ports look blocked just a bit on top. No trimming of the LCD panel's faceplate needed? Edit: Also, what are all the things you can do with it? Temps? FPS?

I was thinking the same thing. The footage is more of a downward view so maybe there not blocked. Either way I would to trim the bracket just a little to keep that port flush and paint the hole case. But this is a easy and quick installation overview, which like when trying to see what mods im comfortable doing.

Keen eye! It does cover the controller port a bit but it doesn’t interfere with plugging in a controller. There are a lot of options that can be tweaked in the XBMC lcd.xml file

Nice work, these powerboard pcbs are indeed very prone to trace damage, When changing leds I also need to watch out.

Mmmm, Love some LCD action! Personally not a fan of the newer displays, just doesn't feel it matches the era of the console. Might have to look into some 3d-printed pieces for my installs. Depends if I'm feeling lazy or not. :P

i can smell the plastic getting cut from that dremel

I've seen LCD and seen even OLED ones on th4ese now. But I still haven't seen where to get a VFD that would work with these.

@@ModzvilleUSAThey made a bunch of promises like the ram expansion, LCD front panel add on, along with updates. But none of it has come out. There are no updates on them on their Discord either. I'm going back to my Open Xenium.

@@8bitnation419 good call. Yeah they’re total dishonest scumbags over there. Check out promethios for OX. I did a video on it. I also made a modified spi2par pcb that should work with my lcd kits / OX. I posted the gerbers on Twitter. Will get some made and tested soonish

​​​@@ModzvilleUSA xbmc4gamers dash and the openxenium chip and an spi2par plugged into the header on the chip and that goes off to the display, I take it the display doesn't go off using the xblast 🤔

@@TheMartman1971 Oh right, yeah that's not an issue on xblast. I think what's going on with the xeniums is that the sca and sdl connections on xeniums add that nice info about temps ect during gameplay. The issue is that it conflicts with xbmc lcd.xml file. You need to modify your xml file to only be two lines instead of 4. That worked for the one xenium I did with an lcd. For xblast or other modchips that's not an issue.
