I'm Moroccan and i can confirm that they are starving... they don't give them food that they usually need to eat ... Like horse meat and raw deer meat ... Some say that the zoo is not making much money so they feed them other animals meat

Nope, the normal lions you see in a zoo are obese. These are healthy

Unfortunately, studies done in the early 2000s did not determine that the lions in the Rabat zoo were genetically different from other lions. Maybe they looked different because of the cold environment in the atlas mountains.

5 samples from rabat lions were tested and were not maternally barbary! However another lion from the same collection was tested in germany and was a atlas lion!! resent research shows that lions in Africa probably constitute a single population that interbred during several waves of migration since the Late Pleistocene there for all lion populations share DNA!! atlas lion distinctness is in a unique haplotype found in museum specimens and this haplotype was found in rabat zoo lions!!!

Rabat is not very cold!! It is a sea level city; it would not create such difference in their looks!!!

@@luisfelipesilvasampaio7922 I don’t know how long they’ve been absent, but they’re back after thousands of years if they’ve ever left if you can unlock the secret of the genetics of these lions perhaps you can unlock the genetic codes of all species that we wiped out on this planet and that way we can reverse the whole thing and this time we are not going to hunt them to extinction, genetic technology or no genetic technology besides, for what it’s worth the evolution of these creatures, we can reach into the past of the genetics of these modern animals and resurrect their extinct family members that way creatures past and present can coexist, and a part of species, walk, fly slither and crawl once more
