The s pen holder is perfect for holding the device. Fingers wrap around the pen holder and stabilize it. Very few people set the small tablet on the table and write, most will hold it as I described.

But you can set in on the table and write, but in landscape mode, not in portrait. In landscape it is very stable to write on it. But he didnt show it on this video

@Risen Oath the choice of tool has absolutely nothing to do with their talent/skill. That's like saying "a professional photographer would never use a budget camera." Utterly false.

I actually really like the case. Here's why: 1) It's a no-brainer that you can't lay it flat or wirelessly charge because of the Spen bump 2) Looks really premium and gels in smoothly with the phone's body 3) The Spen bump actually makes it easier to hold and operate the Fold 4 in tablet mode because of the firm grip 4) Convenient to place the device in flex mode and use the mouse pointer while browsing etc. 5) It's actually very easy to remove the Spen holder or swap it with the kickstand on the go. It slots itself with a satisfying click 6) The kickstand is unbreakable and would just come off and can be installed again if too much pressure is applied

The upped cover part is already broken....

Just need to rotate the phone to the left so the S-Pen angles the phone down when on a table.

Thanks man! Yeah I really like the concept. Hopefully Samsung improves on it and we can somehow get a usable S-pen with kickstand, or honestly just make an S-Pen slot in the phone like the Note line. That would be the best!

The s-pen slot makes the phone feel more secure in my hand when I hold it. It has its ups and downs but it is growing on me!

Bought this and the one big issue with this case (or others too, seems to be the difference in design of the edges of the phone, i had similar cases for the Fold 2 and 3 and did not have that issue before) is the front case, which does never really hold very tight. I do like the fact though that with the sPen holder installed its prefect for holding it. All things considered, i am now using it without the front part of the case as it was too annoying that it did always come off quite easily.

have u try to use flex mode & splitscreen? u can use bottom part to take notes and half folded (which side that has underdisplay camera) part to see the meetings, video etc.. IMHO its comfortable and flat on the desk..

Great case !!! Samsung is always coming out with nice cases for their flagship phones !!! I completely understand what you mean by the two flaws however I don't really use the stand !!! 🤔 Great video !!!

Truly one of the best cases to buy if you're a big s-pen user. If not just purchase the Samsung slim standing cover. Same look/protection, with built in kickstand and premium feel

for writing and drawing, I find it easier to switch the phone around, so the Pen holder tilts the phone higher which makes it sturdy.

That still does not work for me, instead of tilting left to right, it tilts up and down. The holder is too close to the center. Not sure how that works for you

I can confirm that the fold 4 with the standing case charges on the Samsung wireless charger duo even with the s-pen attached to the case. It does not charge on the wireless trio pad and the earlier samsung wireless chargers.

Since the case has an adhesive does that mean that when you're travelling between countries it will become difficult to change sim cards since the adhesive case covers the sim tray?

That is what I have been worried about to upgrade to fold3, the Spen for fold 3 was very bad at the beginning but after one year everyday using, I kind of like it, the side solt give me extre grab and when put it on the table, it become a angle stand case for my pen usage. I think I will skip fold 4 and waiting for fold 5

One thing I disagree with, you are able to charge with the s pen holder case on. I have a standard wireless charger from Samsung and it does not give me any issues!

Best case if you add the sync wire ring.. Allows you to hold it safely and comfortably. I rarely use the pen.

I'm easy.. ain't no way I'm trippin off of that ✌🏾

Any scratches on the edge of your phone from installing uninstalling this cover? I might line the inside cover with some tape.

I cut out strips of 3M clear ppf paint protection film decals and apply with tiny bit of water to the metal to protect it

Case works great for my use, I like how the s pen holder gives you a grip while writing

I got my Fold 4 back in March, and I'm late to these comments. This is a good case, but I'm also wishing it did both a kickstand and a pen holder. And still maintain the wireless charging. I'll always miss having the pen able to be slotted inside the phone.

I also wanted a case that carries the pen and lies flat on the table. I ended up going with the spigen thin fit p case. It does lay flat and stores the pen on the side so it does allow for wireless charging. The only drawback for me is that some of the edges feel a bit sharp which bothered me a bit at first but now I have gotten used to it.

Wireless charging does work with that case. At 5:02 you place the phone in the wrong position, it needs to be in portrait mode (closed) and it will work with that case. That's the extact Wireless chager i use fpr my fold 4 and case.

I just tried it and yeah you are right! I can get it to wirelessly charge if I have it in that position, but it only works with the Samsung fast charger I have. It’s still not working with my other ones which stinks but thanks for that tip!

I have the gray green phone and case and love it. Taking the holder off or holding the phone is not a big deal. The price is ridiculous but considering they charge $50 for the pen... glad I got it for free.

What wireless charger are you using?

I think you should rotate the fold and then write on it. The cover will actually give you am elevation angle and also wouldn't wobble as you mentioned. the canvas in landscape mode would be a better way to write on it too.

I tried that, it doesn’t work. Instead it tilts up and doesn’t stay put. The S Pen holder is too close to the center, so when your righting at the top it tilts forward and than goes back down

Good review and fair points,, though couldn't you just use the stand then carry the SPen with you in your pocket, maybe even with the holder on it's own? I don't see a way that big bulky spen fits in any case that doesn't compromise the experience in some significant way TBH. The ones that hold it on the side have their issues too. Wish they had a note sized spen for easy storage. but not sure why not carry it separately

That’s a fair point, I just don’t like carrying more than I have to. I agree, having a slot in the phone for the S-Pen, like a note, would solve a lot of problems

Definitely better, and i really like what Samsung is doing, they are headed in the right direction. But for me personally it’s something I didn’t like about it. I still like the case overall though

I use the same case, I bought a kickstand from amazon and centered it on the back of the phone and pretty much eliminates the rocking when layying flat works great too

same!!! the hinge is very important to protect the phone. The repair on a damaged hinge is almost half the price of the device.

I bought a phone strap to give further stability and it also has a little stand, that way I have the s-pen at all times and the ability to lay it flat.

I would add that the s-pen case is quite uncomfortable if you are making a phone call, while the device is folded, particularly if you use your left hand

I love my case with the spen. I use the pen holder to grip the phone. Hold the phone in my hand when I do use the spen. And I charge on the wireless charger with the pen still on. I have a white samsung brand wireless charger from a few years ago. The phone docks upright and I have not had any problems with wireless charging on this wireless charger. I don't have an alternative to try, but the phone does charge on some wireless chargers with the pen attached to the case.

Yeah on most that I have it doesn’t work. Because I use wireless charging a lot, it just doesn’t make sense to have it on the back

the s pen case feels great for my finger and actually serves as a better kickstand imo (not too elevated, just the perfect angle for me)

100% agree. Holding the phone in one hand with the case giving extra grip is fine for short notes, but having to pull out the swappable part all the time to put it on a table is annoying. I'd rather just carry it around in my bag at this point. Fold 4 is my first foldable. I'm finding any case feels weird though. Going caseless makes the whole thing feel much more like an iPad mini when open, but it falls out of my pocket so easily without a case. Not sure what I'll do with it yet. Do any if the guys feel it's necessary to get a screen protector for the smaller cover screen?

Get the Samsung slim kick stand case... Not the pen with kickstand combo case. It's really slim and already survived a 3 ft drop (lifted truck) twice with no damage to the phone and only a minor scratch on the corner of the case. It's extremely unobtrusive and maintains slimness

I feel like I like the pen holder for more support when holding the fold 4. Does this impact how you hold the fold 3?

Just gotta get in the habit of detaching that pen holder when going to write on it I guess. It is annoying and I haven't figured out a solid solution. Laying it on something might be the answer but idk yet. Carrying additional items takes away from convenience all together

4:24 I think you should change the position to landscape mode. may be 5:00 Your wireless charging position is not flat. not like wireless charging in general. I've seen it on other channels and it works normally

I tried that, and it just tilts up and down instead of left to right so still an issue. I was able to get it to wirelessly charge with one of my chargers by putting it in a specific position. But it’s just still too inconsistent to actually use wireless charging with it

By kick stand pop off don't know when and now I have no kick stand. And I don't like having my pin on the phone all the time.

I also have this case, but don't find these issues important. I have the pen holder off most of the time. I just add it for on the go use so far. While on the go, I've yet to lay the unit down to use the pen. When you think about it, there would be no other option to design this case. I like the fact you can put the stand on it as it's more important most of the time. If not, you'd be stuck with the pen problem.

It's a quality case but at 48 grams it's positively heavy, chunky and makes it impossible to tell the phone is lighter coming from a Fold 3. Last year's free case was an Aramid carbon fiber case that weighed 19 grams. I've ordered another Aramid case for my Fold 4. I miss that barely there feeling.

No the flatter ones don’t work. I was able to get it to charge with my Samsung upright charger if I place it in a particular position. But it’s just too inconsistent

I like the case but my only issue with it is that I would like to use the kickstand and s pen at the same time but on the go it's not really feasible.

As long as they offer it with the preorder, it's not an issue. I don't think the S Pen holder is meant to be used at all ;)

Like others have mentioned I got the case for free I'm 100% satisfied with it. I have time to get the case I really want and my phone is still protected also my screen protector came with a strip for the hinge so at least it's protected from scratches.

You didnt try to draw in landscape mode. In that mode you can draw and write with phone flat on the table without it moving a bit. And you even get the phone higher on the top because of the pen holder which is great. Problem solved. Also, wirelees charging works on mine with this case and with the pen holder!

Are you sure you actually own this case? Because that does not happen in landscape mode. Instead of tilting left to right, it tilts up and down. The S-Pen holder is in the center so unfortunately when you write at the top it will tilt down than back up.

thankfully I got it half off, but I bought two others off aliexpress for 50 to try.

You know when you close the galaxy fold, there's a little gap between the screens. Does this case hide the gap? I mean, I would love to have a perfectly closed Samsung Fold.

The case has no major flaws most people will us the spen to write a quick note ect. If u are going draw its just a quick second to take the spen holder off and I keep the spen on and use the otterbox folding wireless charging stand and have no issues at all charging

Samsung's case is extremely robust and offers a confident protection for the phone. but the stand is flimsy and doesn't balance the phone well. and the s pen attachment is way too bulky. I still LOVE the fold 4, but I am now caseless since I think it's better without the case

I bought the Samsung $50 case it's the case with the strap handle. Which is pretty nice. I was thinking about returning it to get this case with the S pen. The stand won't last very long though. Those stands will break over wear and tear. I had a samsung stand case for my Note 20 Ultra and I hated it.....

Defintly like this case alot. But I doubt Id put use to the S-pen. Are there options to buy this case without it? also I tried my buddy who had it and its also delight to hold for one hand cause it gives you additional grip

The first part of cover case come of easy and eventually tear apart.

For this reason I gave up on the pen. it lives in a drawer until I need it....which turns out is never... I don't draw and honestly it's just a fancy finger replacement if your just using it to navigate your phone ui and such. I now have a very expensive dust collector...

Love it but broke 2 in 4 months the skinny plastic strip that's on the side without the holder is flimsy and cheap. Too expensive to keep buying them but l did like it until it broke

Samsung should recall this mobile. Tech is not yet ready for launch. Screen gets cracked without any reason

you forgot the third flaw: adhesive. decreases the longevity/re-usability of the case and potentially erodes the outer material of the phone when taking case on and off

It isn't adhesive. They're rubber pads to help keep the front portion of the case on. At least that's what's happening with both my grip case and s pen case.

@@IshmaelSimpson I have the s pen case for the fold 4. It is 100% adhesive. If it was "rubber pads", there wouldn't be a sticker you had to peel off before use.

@@xenonmob Must be different iterations of it then, because mine isnt adhesive, but rather rubber grips to stop the case sliding. I have heard of it being adhesive with other videos I've watched, but I've also heard Samsung swapping them out for rubber grips. Also, I've used rubber pads in laptop repairs and other small devices and you certainly do have to peel back plastic as though it's an adhesive.

not a fan and here in nz the case is $160 for half the price i got a case with a better stand anf for 35 i could have got the spen golder that attaches to the back of the phone like a sucion cup that never came off no matter what i did in the test

I don't agree with op, not everyone needs to put the phone on the table to use the spen. Everyone I know with this phone uses the spen while holding their phone in hand.

The fold is honestly too big for me to use the s-pen and hold it. For the note it was great because the phone was smaller and easier to hold

Acknowledging the improvement on tech but I guess these types of phones are more of a flex than an improvement on usability.

Neither of these things are a big deal at all. Just pop the pen holder out and lay the phone flat to write or to put it on the charger. The trade off of carrying the pen is worth it.

NOT PROTECTING THE HINGE IS A MAJOR MAJOR FLAW!! The hinge is very exposed and sticks out I guarantee you there's going to be bumps scrapes and it's going to like garbage very quickly!! SPIGEN GOT IT RIGHT! They have a case that's a little more expensive called the S Pen pro slim case or something like that. That's the one I bought! It protects the hinge and everything and has a nice rim around the small screen and the cameras that the Samsung case does not have on top of everything else. So much better the best one you can get. How can Spigen know how to make a case that protects the hinge but Samsung who makes the phone doesn't 🤣
