@@JustBlight_ That's mostly true but what was wrong with a fingerprint sensor? When they introduced Touch ID, it wasn't faster or better than other fingerprint sensors that were used on Android phones much sooner.

@@belec5964 From my experience, that's just wrong. iPhones were years ahead of Android competition, even up until the Galaxy S7, which was my last Android phone. And let me tell you, the S7's fingerprint scanner was terrible. When it did work (only like 20% of the time), it was as fast as the iPhone 6s, but the other 80% of the time, it was so frustratingly bad at recognizing the edges of my finger (which is what ended up touching the sensor since it was a short rectangle instead of a circle) that I just ended up having to use a PIN instead. And so the moral of the story is: don't implement a feature until you can do it right; this is basically what Apple does. And in the case of Samsung, that basically meant never doing it at all until under-display fingerprint scanners became popular and, more importantly, _covered a larger surface area so that it could actually scan your whole finger._

The iPhone 6 sucked... although it was the best selling phone of all time, the back had that ugly plastic, huge bezels even for the time, bendgate, touch disease, battery issues and a processor similar to the previous generation. The iPhone 5s was the best - glad Apple brought the nice design back these days with the flat sides.

Up to this date I’m still using Touch ID with my iPhone SE 2nd Gen and iPad 9th Gen. I agree, 5S is truly gorgeous and sleek. It was my first iPhone and my entry point to Apple ecosystem.

My first iPhone was the 5s, and I got it in 7th grade. 6 years later, I now have the 11 Pro Max. As much as I love my new phone, I will never forget my first. The 5s really was a great phone.

I’m watching on my iPhone 12 pro. I love that they brought the classic look back.

This was my first iPhone. Loved it. From there I went iPhone 6s... and stopped immediately. Because after that they started removing features, like the headphone jack and fingerprint reader. And honestly, my 6s is just as good as it ever was. Have to replace the battery every couple years but other than that it’s spot on.

Still the best iphone..... reasons Does not cost 1000$ Last phone by Steve Awsome design.

I remember when I got the iPhone 5, then not even a full year later, Apple released the 5s and I saw that it could be unlocked just by touching the home button. I was devastated lol.

im literally using an iphone 5s currently cause I’ve sent my iphone 11 to repair and it still runs the latest version of instagram, snapchat and facebook and pretty much has most of the new apps that you’ll find on newer iphones. Plus it was working way too smoothly until beginning of last year now its acting its age of being laggy after years

its 26 september 2019 recommend for me..5s is my first ios phone in my life..and now im upgrade to iphone X..I miss my 5s :,)

Still one of the best iPhones for innovation, actually it is the best, then it's the 4s for introducing Siri, then the 6s for 3D Touch and Live Photos, then the iPhone 7 for great courage of removing the headphone jack and then the iPhone se for all the small hand users or someone who still owns a 5s but thinks the new iPhones are too big

Before the iPhone 5s (September 2013), the Galaxy S4 (April 2013) had a fingerprint scanner but you had to swipe down to register the finger. Also laptops had fingerprint scanners but you had to swipe the finger for registering. The iPhone 5s allowed the scanning by just tapping on the sensor, which was outstanding for this time.

Missed John Ive's speech. So calm and assuring.

iPhone 14 is out and this popped up in my recommendations a few minutes ago, 2 weeks later after the 14's release. I remember that my mom had it and I really liked it. We used to play games on it until my dad sold it because she was playing games. She's got two very old phones after that, but my dad today decided to give me the money and give my old phone to her and even though I'm happy, I still really like the 5s because it has Slow Motion unlike my old phone lol
