Official Babylon 5 Music Videos - Requiem

Ойын-сауық

John Hudgens was hired by Joe Straczynski to create official Babylon 5 music videos for him to use at science fiction conventions, and later to promote the show to networks. They produced eight over the run of the series. Now, for the 20th anniversary and after numerous requests from fans, Straczynski has allowed these to be posted online.
This video was produced near the end of Season Two, and debuted at the 1995 Comic-Con. The show was heading into darker territory, and Joe had Christopher Franke compose a suite that became know as the "Requiem for the Line". This one went though several revisions, as JMS was very specific about certain things he wanted to see, and a certain mood he wanted to project.

It’s beautiful. I love B5. Now feel the need to watch again having literally just finished a watch.

The first forty seconds show 13 members of the regular cast. 5 have left us.(0:19, 0:23, 0:30, 0:33, 0:36) As well as all three guest stars with speaking parts in this video. (1:47, 2:06, 3:27) May they meet again in the place where no shadows fall.

It's so crazy comparing bablyon 5 to startrek where as far as I remember only 2 of the original cast are dead why did it have to go this way

@@wingedfish1175 Three, actually (DeForest Kelley/Bones in 1999, James Doohan/Scotty in 2005, Leonard Nimoy/Spock in 2015), but the difference is still stunning. Especially considering that show ended in 1969 (not counting the movies obviously), so they lost their first cast member after 30 years. Meanwhile B5 had already lost six of their main cast alone after only 20 years. That's a third of all actors who ever appeared in the opening credits - 40% if you don't count Keffer and Na'Toth as main characters because their roles were so small. As for why... I think it's because JMS gave people second chances, like he did with Jeff Conaway. If you look at how much these people went through before, during and after their B5 careers it's not always surprising that some of them died so early. Doesn't make it any less sad though.

And now there is a dislike.... must be a star wars fan upset that their franchise is in the toilet and will never be as awesome as B5 was.

Saw this at a convention when it was first released, on a giant screen during a B5 panel. Some of the stuff in there had not happened yet. It was devastating.

It was the dawn of a new era, it was a year when history was made, it was the year the great series touched us all The name of the Series is BABYLON 5 Never have so few given so much to so many Those of us that were witness, can scarcely believe that such an epic would Grace our screen and touch our lifes We are saddened by the loss of so many, And yet we are the better for having known them As long as we remember them They will live on in our hearts and memories Entil Zha Veni in Valens Name

Damn I like this track so much. I have it as an MP3 but it would be great if it were available on say Spotify. Weird thing is I remember this piece from the series. I thought it was the intro music but that one is rather boring compared to this. So.. was this used in the series?

This track is called Requiem For The Line. It was composed for the epic "battle of the line"scene that starts @ 00:47 in the video.
