From the UK, it does seem strange that the US Police are allowed to just kill people like this. Even if you think he deserves the death penalty, isn't that for a Court to decide?

It's probably far less than is spent paying off lawsuits for bad policing. He'd run out of energy soon enough or be surrounded. There was no need to kill him intentionally, and if the officer didn't realise that would likely kill a suspect, then he didn't have the intelligence to be an officer. 20ish MPH pinning a person to a wall is common sense that it would likely result in fatal injuries. Now, instead, Grand Rapids taxpayers will pay out millions. No one came out a winner here.

Kids are dumb when they are scared. No you shouldn't run, but when your scared you don't think that, it doesn't give anyone the right to endanger or end their life. People make mistakes when they are young. We as the older generation are supposed to show them a better way.
