Think he meant visually, not musically. As in the video isn't synced with the audio - I don't agree, but it can happen in live settings, at bigger venues like festivals.

Mario is one amazing man.

Wow. What I would give to start listening to Gojira for the first time again. Don’t forget, this is live. Repeat, this is live. They crush this song.. it is better than the studio version. It’s worth your time to delve deeper into this band. They are unique, professional, intelligent, passionate, aware, and technically incredible.

Gojira is Always better live. There is more feel and less stuffy studio sound

As soon as he criticized the drummer I knew how the comments would look lol. He’s probably the best metal drummer right now.

Mario Duplantier is the best drummer in my opinion! His drumming is 100% real, I would suggest reacting to a few of his drumming videos. He has his own channel to post drum solos and whatno.

@Liam Garrett Yep I just listened to give you the benefit of doubt, he says "Looks like he's all over the place" and his friend says "Yep, looks like he's playing to a faster track", at no point he mentions the video synching at all. The guy to the left even started explaining what he knew about polyrhythms because he was fully aware they were making an ignorant comment, and neither of them responded with anything like "Oh we weren't talking about his playing, just the video." So if you still think I'm wrong, link me the exact second where they mention anything contradicting me, otherwise now you're not only willfully ignorant but you're also a brown-noser

Singer and drummer’s mom was (she passed away around when they were recording their most recent album) American so I assume (besides that there are a lot of people in France who speak good English) that’s why they don’t sound particularly French.

Mario adds alot of ghost notes to his playing so there are alot of things he is doing that arent part of the main beat of the song.

Just subbed, enjoyed the review of one of my favourite bands. Mario Duplantier is a monster drummer. I’d love to see your reaction on Gojira - Remembrance The Link Alive, it’s the most metal video you’ll ever hear/see. Early 2000’s. Basically anything off of The Link Alive Concert is pure gold. I’d start with Remembrance, cheers from Belgium.

Oh, he definitely breaks sticks. If you watch Gojira at Hellfest - "Where Dragons Dwell" you can see him break a stick. You also see him do a marathon of drumming in a 10:43 second song.

No. If you're doing Meshuggah it should be the Clockworks playthrough. The Bleed drum cam.has poor sound quality and EVERYONE does Bleed.
