Off the Grid Makes 87 - A 'Clay' Pot from Banksia

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Banksia is a beautiful coloured timber but is quite difficult to work as it is is very open grained and quite soft. I think it suits this project though as I was going for a clay pot feel for the finished piece. This turning is inspired by African clay pots which I like for their rustic ornamentation combined with beautiful forms.

That's an awesome idea with the saw blade. Is that a normal thing used? I've never seen it done before but I'm new.

I keep a lot of old blades and gears for indexing like that. Sometimes a 24 pin indexer is just not enough!
