Off-road Lambo v Off-road Porsche: DRAG RACE

It’s time for two incredible off-roading supercars to go head-to-head… On tarmac?!
We’ve finally got our hands on the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, and it’s lining up for a drag race against the Porsche 911 Dakar!
So let’s see how these two compare. Starting with the Lambo, it’s based on the original Huracan, so it comes equipped with the same 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10, which in this instance can produce 610hp and 560Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed automatic gearbox, and it tips the scales at 1,470kg (however, this is the dry weight - we think the real weight is closer to 1,600kg!).
But of course, being an off-roading supercar, there are a few more changes over the normal Huracan! It also comes with a load of body cladding, off-roading tyres, as well as lifted suspension.
Next up we have the Porsche. It’s powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo flat-six which can put down 480hp and 570Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed PDK gearbox, and it weighs in at 1,605kg. Just like the Lambo, it’s also fitted with proper off-roading tyres.
So the Lambo has more power, but will that be enough to beat Porsche’s incredible launch control system? There’s only one way to find out for sure… LET’S RACE!

I think the sterato's front massive led lights are pretty cool ...gives it more of a "ready for anything" off-road feel. And in its defence u can actually choose to not have them while customising the car at the site for purchase

i would love to see them drag race on dirt. It seems so unnatural but fun. Sam is really growing on me. The only proper fill-in for yanni, if thats possible haha

In terms of looks, the Porsche for me; that Rothman's style paint scheme looks fabulous, and fair play to Racing Driver Sam, he did a great job of helping the Porsche bridge the power gap to the Lambo. CarWow's Tame Racing Driver did good.

I am looking forward to a Sterrato review (maybe in the mud) if Lamborghini will allow. And also like everyone has also mentioned; an off road drag race but not on the the track you use to test obviously. Wow! I really didn't expect this after what was an awesome Saturday Drag Race! Looking forward to seeing what other crazy and unexpected drag races you have coming soon...

Love rally/mixed surface stuff! Would be awesome to see dirt surface laps or drag races! Only have dirt tracks other than drag strips near me anyway lol (not that id ever have one of these, but maybe something 1/100th the price lol)

That was once again a great, exciting, competent presentation of two dream cars. By the way, giving the 911 a turbo was a wonderful idea. Maybe Porsche will think about it. I'm really looking forward to the off-road comparison. A question for the team: How about a comparison test of classics from the 1960s, for example: VW Type 3, Alfa-Romeo Giulia, Renault 8, BMW 1500, Citroën Ami 6, Peugeot 404, Ford Capri/Taunus. I really like the body work on the sterrato, especially the front rally lights, but the porshe looks better lifted
Probably would be more interesting if you done a off-road course with these cars.

The Porsche looks better to me. I had a Dakar Porsche as a child (RC model) in the 80s and LOVED it. You should make a comparison on some rougher terrain...

hey Mat, if you wanna rev a porsche past the limiter there's a technique : you put 1 or 2km/h in drive ,then while it rolls slowly, put it in Neutral and rev it ! cheers

Porsche always impressed me a lot.
i have a feeling the porsche would perform better off road - also you you could extract a lot more power out of it with a simple remap and exhaust

Really wanna see an off-road test with both cars, I’ve seen people thrashing the Dakar off road, but haven’t found sterrato thrashing!
