OFF GRID LIVING On South Pacific Atoll
Welcome to another update from Elixir's voyage around the world!
Days turned into weeks as we made our way through the uninhabited atolls of the Tuamotus. They were your typical desert island, with white sand and palm trees, and it felt very remote. And after sailing across the Pacific, it felt like we'd deserved it.
Our supplies were beginning to run low, and we made the most of the abundance of fish an coconuts.
I still can't get over the incredible beauty of these islands.

Y'all have to husk the coconut with a wooden pike, usually a branch and tear off till you have the coconut
This is top rate content. I’ve learned quite a bit from watching your videos. I know it takes a great effort to make this content and I truly appreciate each episode.

Ship ahoy there! Regards from the UK.
second. What a place...
That is the first I’ve heard of this ciguatera in the fish. I’ve just been blissfully comfortable believing that ocean fish like grouper and sea bass are as pure and safe as food gets! It’s impressive to me how much information you acquire about things like that, and other risks in the area as well as where the good diving spots are.

Yes it’s a big danger, and something we think about a lot. We’ve found that the best source of info is local fishermen

So cool! Nick is a legend and he’ll def be sailing on elixir again!
There are videos on KZread of how Pacific islanders climb the coconut trees. U can practise and learn. Also, see how to open green and brown coconuts. Growing up around coconut trees on a Pacific island atoll, it truly hurts my eyes to see u guys struggle to get and open the nut.
