    SIX YEARS LATER ... just seeing this. As a licensed esthetician, I am in total agreement with 99% of this content. The only thing I take issue with is the baking soda. pH is critically important in skincare. Your skin likes to be at about 5.5, or, slightly acidic. Baking soda is SO highly alkaline that it can compromise your skin’s protective barrier, breaking it down over time. People with sensitive skin are very prone to breaking out in a rash when using products containing baking soda. But you are spot on about the skin’s microbiome. I was brought up on the once a week bath, too, but as a child of the 70’s, I thought it was gross! Everyone I knew was showering/shampooing daily! My dad would say, ‘your washing off your skin’s protection!’, and I would just huff and walk away 🥴. The man was way ahead of his time. He and my mom were homesteaders, although it wasn’t referred to as that back then. Mom made every stitch that went on my back, they had a huge organic garden, a small orchard, bees, chickens and rabbits. Grocery store was for flour, sugar, salt cause mom made all our bread, and canned/froze our veggies, fruit and meat. And NO AIR CONDITIONING, or central heating. We had a wood stove in the basement and one grate in the floor for heat which is where I would park myself after playing outside in the snow! I’ll be 65 this year, and appreciate the lifestyle more every day. Wish I could talk my husband into it! Anyway, thanks for the great videos that bring a little joy as the world around us goes MAD😩

    Watching this video reminds me of something that happened about 20 years ago. I was helping take care of an elderly lady. I went to her house to help give her her weekly bath. She absolutely didn't want to take it. She then took me to the restroom and explained..." I sat on the toilet, where she could reach the sink, used this rag with soap and I washed my face and down as far as possible. Then I washed my feet and up as far as possible. THEN I WASHED POSSIBLE! which "possible" was her privates. 😂😂 I laughed so hard. She was in her 90s. Needless to say she didn't have to get in the tub for a bath that say. 🥰🥰 much love for you guys. Down here in Texas burning up right now

    I just found your site today, you both are awesome! I am 62 and have been taking "bowl baths" for years with purified water and a drop of castille soap just under my arms. I shower about once a week when I wash my hair. I also use plain baking soda under my arms as a deodorant. The catch here is that if you wear plastic clothes that do not allow your skin to breathe you WILL STINK! Bacteria builds up when perspiration can't evaporate away. Women who wear yoga pants wonder why they are having vaginal problems, yoga pants don't breathe. When you wear natural fibers you don't have problems. Marketing is deceptive, so beware. Check every label on your clothing and if it's cotton and plastic (polyester, nylon, rayon, etc.) get rid of it. Linen, cotton, and wool; these fibers served people for thousands of years, they are long lasting and good for you and the planet. God bless you both.

    Learned quite by accident that for me, shampoo was unnecessary. For years I spent money I didn't have to buy various moisturizers for my very dry hair and skin. Stylists explained that I just had dry hair and I accepted it. Now, for many years, plain water does great job. This is one of many small discoveries as I travel this road, leaning the farm, leaning my life and building a life of peace. Many thanks for all you do and share, Stacey and Doug 💜🌞

    Loved this video. Did you know you don't have to use soap on your hair at all? I mix 1 Tablespoon baking soda with one cup warm water. Use this for washing . Your hair will squeak just like with soap when you finish and it will thank you. . Then for a rinse, I use 1 Tablespoon cider vinegar (with mother) in a cup of filtered water. Keep in labeled glass jars. This is a great combination for cleaning hair. I have used it for a long time. My mother taught me this method of cleaning and rinsing hair years ago. this is an old formula used for many, many years. I was born and reared on a homestead in the 1930's. Keep doing what you are doing. You have it right.

    It cost me 2 years to be shampoo free, but now I am. I thied home made soap, baking soda (that was a little too heavy, but good for getting toxic out), later I used vinegar and now I learned to use lemon juice (that 's better for blond hair). So cool! I used to wash my hair three times a week, now only ones every 2 weeks.

    I wash my hair weekly, sometimes I go close to two weeks. I still use regular hair products but I look for sulfate and paraben free. I use a little dry shampoo if I need to go somewhere and want to freshen up my hair but yeah, one to two weeks. I still color my hair. It’s dark brown and long. I can’t afford to have it colored to match the gray roots so I color it every few weeks. I do try to prolong coloring by using fanciful temporary hair coloring rinse or those new powders or sprays to put on roots. But they dry the hair out and they make it feel horrible so I try to avoid it. But I might try this some time. Thank you for posting it.

    I ditched traditional deodorant a year ago and started using a Thai mineral stick. I use it once a day and it has stood up to long hikes in the desert, sweaty days in the garden, Las Vegas, etc. Not only is it really effective and much healthier, it is really cost effective. I'm still using the same stick a year later, and it cost me less than $3.00! A quick wipe with some isopropyl alcohol is really effective too!

    I’ve been telling my daughter for years, if you wash your hair about once a week, it gets much less oily. She is starting to do every other or every third. Of course there is a period of adjusting but she is starting to see it! I’ve been trying to wean myself off of conventional deodorant and it’s been a bit difficult but I know what to expect…it’s still sort of difficult though! We’ve been using deodorant only, no antiperspirant with aluminum and metals for years but the leap to neither is…a lot. lol I appreciate this video very much, a lot of great tips! The diy wet wipes are good, we spend a lot of money on them, despite having a bidet. Any tips about taking chemicals away from our bodies, are awesome! Also, love and appreciate Doug’s Torah compliance reminders at the end. Thank so much for all that you two do! ❤️

I used to do the whole enchilada every day including blow drying and full makeup, but a couple of years ago I started going a day or 2 between showers and hair washing and last year we moved out to our own homestead ish and I extend it as far as I can, my hair has never been healthier and my skin looks way better!! When I first started skipping shower days it made me feel lazy and icky but I’ve never had oily skin or hair but I’m over that now and am working on leaving Babylon completely!! I’m healthier and happier. I’m working on pushing it to weekly bc now that I’m out of the daily habit I really hate the process and still don’t blow dry my hair! No more split ends! I love the biblical tidbits! This world has been flipped upside down and we need to be searching for absolutely TRUTH!! The Laundry Streetcar had a Wood Cook Stove, a large electric Cooler, a Double Chest Freezer, and the Washing Machine. We did our laundry on Saturday, then took a bath once a week! Our 'Chief' Washing Machine was hand filled from the large Copper Boiler on the Wood Stove. The Long Bath Tub was filled with Cold Spring Water from the Hose Bib, to rinse the washed clothes. We cooked our dinner in the Oven, usually Tamale Pie. Then when done with the Laundry, we filled the Copper Boiler - a large Oval Tub with a lid, about 25 gallons of water. We hand poured by bucket the Hot water into the Tub. Then we cooled it with Spring water to comfort level. My Mother took her Bath first, then we kids got to get our bath - 3 of us, one at a time. Once a Week was our Bath. At school, P E gave me a daily shower from 7th to 11th Grade, at School. To This day at age 77, I look 20 years younger than I am. My hair is beautiful, my skin - complimented all the time, carded for Alcohol until I was 36, asked if my Dad was home when I was married with a Baby, the Bank even refused to cash a check thinking I was not the wife! I take no Pharmaceuticals, and eat very little processed Foods! No White Sugar, No White Flour, No White Salt, no Canola, etc. I am very Blessed!

    This was such a darling video with the two of you together! I literally laughed aloud a couple of times! Just the refreshment that I needed! I've actually cut back on washing my thick and curly hair to maybe twice a week and showering every other day. Definitely will be trying those wipes and giving Dr. Bronner a second try. (The first time I found it harsh, but that could have been my hot water or just the quality of the city water itself!) Loving your channel!!

    get a Pull Chain Wall Mount Cold Water Shower Unit. you can collect water in a holding tank & use it as a gravity fed system run it through a plumbing T fitting one side as a cold water output and the other through a battery operated LP tankless hot water heater, regulate the flow of hot & cold water using gate valves, ball valves, or just a regular hot & cold water faucet then hook that to your Pull Chain Wall Mount Cold Water Shower Unit. you will have hot water on demand

    I would love to get off anti- perspirant, but my sweat breaks me out with extreme exzema; I am allergic to my own sweat. If I wear a snug to the armpit t shirt I do alright, but anything loose and the sweat breaks me out. I am also allergic to coconuts, walnuts, brazil nuts, fresh pineapples, kiwi, iodine, and silver. God help me if the SHTF. Doug you are funny; every time you can't remember it's because Stacy has Alzheimer's. Stacy, you have a very healthy looking smile. I always carry a bowl with a tight fitting lid, a small bottle of soap, a milk jug of water, and paper towels when traveling with kids/babies. I tried a baby wipe once on my personal space, and I would never place one of them on a baby's bottom (not good). When I was a kid my dad's family all had out houses and well water. Taking a bath meant hauling and heating lots of water for the galvanized wash tub. I was always the dirtiest of the kids, so I always had to get in last. Religion everywhere is going through a transformation. I always have to ask God to forgive me for what I do not understand and thank Him for what I do. My dream is that every human in the end will come to know the love of God and love Him, and His adversary will end up in the pit all alone with nobody, no angels, nothing. That would be a fitting end for evil. May God's love be so great that all come and not perish.

    Dear Abiding, I started following the Torah about nine years ago - it dumbfounds me that I was so blinded before, but couldn't shake the nagging thoughts that something was very wrong somewhere - one just doesn't dismiss what Abba YAH says is "an ordinance, FOREVER!" Just recently, more unraveling as to what was changed, that most of us never caught because most of us aren't scholars in English, Latin, Greek, Aramaic, Hebrew, etc., and the man in this link is. Just ever so subtle changes in Christian Lexicons and dictionaries, were translated right into the KJV and most of the other translation too I've watched this one video countless times, and it just astounds me that people will swallow church doctrines hook line and sinker without ever investigating - so much deception that totally changes OSAS - remember those who endure until the end shall be saved. We've used all natural and/or homemade soaps and body care concoctions for quite a few years now, and yes, I've noticed some of the same things. My skin is way healthier! The eczema disappeared after the chemical cleaners and soaps did. [Shoulda known, Grandma!] Extra virgin cold pressed olive oil, and coconut oil is what we use for everything from cooking to burns, to hair de-tangler. I know this is a couple years old, but I've got a question: What about a rainwater cistern? We use well water for the most part, except for the rainwater we collect for outdoor watering. Since I happen to love relaxing baths sooo much, [with essential oils, or fresh lavender and lemon verbena, of course] wouldn't rainwater be better? .....as well as less wasteful? I remember my grandparents having a rainwater cistern on the farm that supplied everything but drinking water. Growing up right next door, I often helped out with cleaning and household chores. Most things were cleaned with vinegar and cistern water, and occasionally baking soda. My Grandma kept an emmaculate house. The windows never had spots and were always sparkling. We never had trouble with hard water stains on the fixtures either. She washed everything in rainwater [including dirty grandkids, lol!] Laundry was washed with a wringer washer and homemade soap, and everything was dried on the clothesline or a wooden clothes rack that Grandpa had built. She would laugh [or be horrified] at the ridiculous amount of money that is spent on natural as well as chemical laden soaps and cleaners today, not to mention the hypocritical lifestyles of some of our supposedly "green, environmentalist" politicians! I've been enjoying your videos. They are simple, easy to understand, and the ideas are affordable and down to earth. I think I'll subscribe........

    You guys made some powerful points on this video. This is one of my favorites from you two. Big pharma also push vaccines which is another thing I'm totally against. I can't stand having all these laws for our children & what they "need" in order to be allowed to go to school or certain places to visit. It's absolutely ludicrous. My daughter is now 18 & never vaccinated. She never got sick until she was 5yrs old with her 1st cold. To date, she's been sick only a handful or 2 of times. I also can't stand how the little ppl are the ones being penalized with EPA, for example... or like the native Americans forced to have gas pipelines...or at least tried to. It's not the big companies paying for their mistakes. They get "slap on the wrist" type fines, & yet continue to pollute or steal or send our jobs oversees. I could go on.... I'm glad to have watched this particular episode... I'm more aware of where your mindset is, beliefs are, etc.. As of today I'm subscribing. God bless you guys! Looking forward to watching more & hearing more about your thoughts on Bible & Torah. I also agree, that corruption of the Bible (later versions), have severely mislead a lot of people. :/

  • @CubasAutomotive

    @CubasAutomotive

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@mccannpf by corruption, I mean authors have taken verses and completely rewrite them. Then the meaning is completely different or connotation has changed. Let's just use a basic example. Courage. When someone has courage it's a positive attribute and a person is perceived as brave. Audacity, that's a form of courage however now a person is seen as brazen and seen in a negative light. In Greek (moreso) or Hebrew, words used in language were more precise in connotation & meaning, unlike English for example, where context of a sentence must define how some words are used (like the word gay). Gay never meant queer in its original use. Happy. Nothing more. Understand now?

I’d like to offer a suggestion for baby wipes. When my children where babies (over 25 yrs ago) I used cotton towels I cut into wipe size. Kept them on the change stand and only used warm water and the cotton wipe. Since I also used cloth diapers the wipes were soaked and washed with the diapers. Neither of my kids had rashes and it was super easy and economical. Love your channel
