Off Grid Cabin in the Woods...Spring trip ...massive snow
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
It's springtime....but up at the Off grid cabin there is still three feet of snow. In this video Brooke and I snowmobile into our remote off grid cabin to see how things made it through the winter. We also want to do some snow shoeing, and walk the property one last time before breakup when the snow falls apart.
If you want to see Brooke's version of this trip check it out at her channel "girl in the woods" here's the link.

Probably the best Ryan’s kzread.infoUgkxGZedDTcDfgD7fG_uU4esfx_EgxzlY2_1 Plans on building a shed is hardly ever found. And Ryan takes the mystery out of different types of foundation options, etc. He even shows how to build a shed with different designs. Very comprehensive, covering different roofing materials, siding, etc.
There is something so honest and natural about the way you edit and narrate these videos. Thanks 😊

I just got thru telling Brook how I love you two. At 77 most of my traveling days are done after a couple million miles (literally) traveling picking and singing for folks. I retired to the Appalachians of NC and love it here. Still have a small studio next to my house where I still record, make vids and share my music with folks on youtube, but the wonderlust days are pretty much behind me now. But I love my life and I have a 10 foot projection TV where I still get to enjoy vids like you two make and get to see nature and hear the sounds and it's almost like being there. Nature sounds are the best music God ever made. But thanks to people like you and Brook that share these vids, I get to "travel" still, and not get cold doing it lol! Again, thanks and you two are special!

This is KZread Prefection!!! Dave you INSPIRED ME.. I bought land I cut down the trees. I split the wood and stacked it!! More to do! I will build a Shower house this summer!! While I could have built my own cabin the price of lumber was insane at 80 bucks a sheet of plywood. So at that time a pre built shed / cabin type of thing was 12,000 delivered. Its a BIG building though 12x40 with a small front porch. Your hard work is amazing. Showing how simple things can be and showing things tips and tricks its amazing. Thank you!!!

Watching this makes me think of a time in which I went to our cabin for some snowmobiling in March, and the snow was so deep, we had to step down onto the porch! Our cabin has a much steeper pitch and we ended up building a metal "V" to divert the snow from the chimney. When heavy snow is "glaciering" off the roof, it'll destroy the chimney or push it out away from the wall. You need a lid over that outhouse hole. It makes a difference on the nose! And this video, is what all the hard work and effort is all about. YEARS of enjoyment. KEEP A JOURNAL! Talk about fun reading, going back through your own personal history. Our cabin has entries from fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, ATVs, whatever... with details of weather and experiences, or just something funny someone says. And make sure you write in it. It won't seem like much at first, but over the years, it'll be one of your greatest treasures! Happy cabining!

Woman Of Truth I too am on my own on an off grid adventure. I built a survival cabin three years ago in Ontario and have just completed one full year living here full time. I often wonder about my ancestry and where my wild roots came from. My family question my sanity and i wonder why i feel the need to challenge myself daily. This is not camping, it truly is an endurance test. Three things .... food, water, and a warm shelter. The rest is what makes it a home. Some days the solitude is numbing, self motivation a challenge, and wood cutting exhausting, but what doesn’t kill me makes me stronger. Congratulations to all the wild women living their dream.
Really great stuff. no overwhelming music, slow pace, beautiful scenery, no pushy commentary. Just perfectly done. Thanks guys, do do us all a great service.

I am just mesmerized by your videos, I can watch them for hours what a wonderful life you have chosen. So admire your principles, your children have been raised with such adventure and wonder. Thank you so much for leading the way and showing what can be done.
Amazing! Brooke actually took a shovels' walked 3/4 of a mile shovel's snow off her cabin and walked back.. I can't get my wife to pick up a stick in the middle of the driveway. You go girl!
Wonderful to see the cabins and to see the both of you!!💚🌈 Nice to know that all have survived the winter and I look forward to some epic spring and summer sojourns on your little piece of heaven on earth❤️ Stay safe, be well and see ya next time👋👋👋
That looks like a lazy boy recliner my grandmother had. She gave it to me in her will when she passed, but unfortunately I couldn't keep it due to space. Loved it.
I see those young hickory leaves 🍁 that held on thru the winter. My cats loved to chew them.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. I'm from SE Michigan. I've always loved snow and colder weather. My dream would be able to do something like this and be able to be self sustainable.
We had a cabin up in Northern AZ when I was a kid. I couldn't wait to get up there and I never wanted to leave. The leaving is always hard! Beautiful to see you all and that you are both well! Thank you for this beautiful journey!

I had a place like that too and it set the precedence for my off grid today. I remember thinking, "I could live like this," even way back then.❤️
I love you for giving me the "experience" of building my dreamed of cabin in the woods that I had hoped my 3 sons would be unafraid to do for themselves, their families, a few dogs, and me, their 78 y.o. mother, a few goats, chickens, and a generous veggie and fruit garden... and hundreds of books, National Geographic magazines, a small brook full of croaker fish, and survival books. I am laughed at because i gave them survival books for the past 20 or so years for when the national "shit hit the fan". The only one who embraced my teachings has been my 10 y.o. grandson, John. He has always tried to build tiny houses, asked for compasses and utility knives and tools to build houses he dreams of building and living in, when he grows up...in the woods. He is unafraid of hard work and finding solutions when an attempt at making something that he cannot seem to figure out, because his dad won't get his hands dirty. I will, but I'm only a fixer-upper divorced old grandma. I fell in love with wanting to learn how to build tiny houses, wooden, repurposed train cars, Lowe's lawnmower and toolsheds, cabins and "mudcobb" as well, but people here in Atlanta want to show off, not live in God's and nature's peace and beauty. Please tell your wife thank you for letting you share such patience and instructions with us, even though I'm 78 and have little time left to buy materials and build my old-age dream home. I watched several videos just now. Thank you both. My favorite hot breakfast: also corned beef hash topped with eggs. God bless.
It is really good to see you and your wife doing things together. What a wonderful time together there in the beauty of nature.
Wow! That’s a crazy amount of snow! I’m glad to see everything is ok. Thank you both for bringing us along. Bless you both
