Of Montreal Kevin Barnes on fighting Van Halen
Of Montreal's Kevin Barnes says his band's new look for their tour in support of Paralytic Stalks is inspired in part by the look of street gangs in movies like The Warriors. Barnes is skeptical about his band's chances in a fight, particularly if they were up against Van Halen. "I don't think we'd win," he says. "I think the Van Halen gang would probably beat the shit out of us, but I could see David Lee Roth maybe being kind to us. Like, maybe he'd just hit us once to get us down, and be like 'Just don't move, just don't move!'"

It's too funny how when he starts talking about the gang stuff, he's really reserved, but then when he realizes he's making the interviewers laugh he keeps going with it and it just balloons into this ridiculous story. I'd imagine that's how a lot of his more narrative-type songs get started, too.
EL O ELLLL These guys have been around since the 90's...they aren't new, and neither is his personality. If you watch any other interview with him, he's EXACTLY the same...a real person with a real personality. He's not trying at all, it's just who he is.

is THAT so? i never understood the relativity of pansexuality. i mean, it's way more simple to just say that you're bisexual isn't it? i prefer to stick to the main categories: hetero, homo, bi and asexual. to me it just make more sense and far less confusing.

Blake Gildaphish actually there is a difference between bi- and pansexual identities because bi- implies that there are only two genders to choose from and pan encompasses all gender identities (trans, gender non-conforming, etc) it is confusing especially when it is not something you deal with every day but there IS a necessary distinction between the sexualities. hope this cleared things up for you
