@Only1-Godly I just bought everything out of a 2005 silverado and did a complete swap and yes it did work but it's a pain in the ass got all my parts from trust auto parts out of Houston and some part from O'Reilly but it all works like factory

How many pins did the wire harness connector in the driver fuse box have on your truck? Mine only has 4. Assuming yours was the same way?

power windows will work but the turns signals will not work you’ll have to where them differently

Did the new BCM come out of a truck with the push button 4WD? Gonna be doing this swap soon with parts from a Yukon Denali into a Sierra WT with the manual 4WD and don’t want to have a service 4WD light

If you haven’t gotten it to work faster yet, I’d suggest buying new window regulator/motor assemblies, and make sure the track the window slides in is clean and not pinched. The regulators commonly fail in these trucks

you should only have to use the 2 orange wires on the passenger side

Was your truck a WT? My wiring is a bit different. Also, the green wire you tapped into on the BCM, do you know what its for?

yes it was a wt and the green wire i can’t remember what it’s for but you need to tap into it for it to work

Cool second video I've seen of some one doing it this way. Safe to say it works. Some. Day I'll get it done. You can now also add power mirrors. They plug into the window switch.

check for the wire that stays on when you turn the truck off you need to tap in to that one and no i’m not sure what vin it is as long as it power windows and locks and around the same year of your truck

Dude, your the man. I bought a BCM off of eBay $30 with the same part number as the one you installed from your donor truck. eBay advertised it as a bcm from a hummer. My locks and windows work, I’m about to buy a key fob to see if it works. Thanks again!!!

So all the wires and wiring harness is from another Silverado? Any Silverado from those years will work With the same wiring harness oem & is there something you watched or looked up that help you wire up everything because im still confused for the wiring part!

i’m not sure if it will work for your year model i know it’s different for a 99-02

after you switched the bcm, did you still have to splice the green wires? also, what did you connect to make the locks move? i know you connected the bcm but did you also add actuators? i’ve been searching for months on how to do this with oem parts and you answered almost all questions ive been looking for. edit: also what did you splice the motor wires to (the ones you put on the battery to check if they worked)

The green wire is is spliced with a wire that connects with the brown small wire from your driver side even i you change your bcm you still have to do it also I didn’t splice no wire to no actuators or motor everything is connected with the oem plugs

If I do this on my 2005 Silverado regular cab, would front doors from an extended or crew cab truck fit mine? Or the mechanism from those doors? I don’t even know what a BCM is, but would a regular cab’s with power windows one be best for my truck? This computer controlled stuff on newer than 1985 vehicles is so confusing to me. I’d probably have to order everything from eBay or GM anyway. It’s probably not affordable for me, but it’s sure interesting to know it’s possible. I’ve seen some videos on universal kits to give me power windows and locks that are probably more affordable for me right now. Thanks for your instructional video, great job on what you had to figure out how to do yourself. What you’ve done is exactly what I wish I could do. Enjoy your power windows and locks. Edit: I read some more comments and learned that the engine from a donor truck must be the same. Mine is a 5.3, but what does “drive by wire” mean?

Yes doors from any extended cab or crew cab will fit just fine if you look up bcm (body control module) on google you’ll easily see what it is and I would not recommend buying anything aftermarket I got everything from a donor which is all oem and you can easy go to a local junk yard and get these parts for cheap

Drive by wire means instead of a linkage, say for a throttle, you have the electronic throttle control. That's an example of part of it.

When you did this. Does the door still get the signal when it’s opened? Or do you have to wait for your truck to time out to shut everything off?

@@Henrylxt I’ve got one on the way. I bought one from an extended cab that had power locks and windows. So should be good to go now. Just have to do the relearn once I get the new BCM. Have you done the relearn? Is it crank, then wait 10 minutes, off for 5 seconds, then try to crank again, and repeat that until it learns the new one?

I’ve had a single cab for 2 years now and I’ve saved your video not to long after. Well the time has come, I bought 2 entire doors off FB marketplace. I swapped everything I needed and got it the majority done over the course of two afternoons. I ran 16-14 gauge wire with a 20amp max in line fuse and I’ve blown two fuses so far. I didn’t realize the first time but the second time was when I rolled both windows down at the same time. Should I run bigger wire and bigger in line fuse or just bigger fuse ? Side question the drivers side doesn’t want to stay locked, it’ll lock and immediately unlock, when I press the switch any ideas ?

@@Henrylxtit already has the replacement BCM but yea I that’s what I end up doing, haven’t had a problem since. The driver door wouldn’t lock running with the door open because obviously it’s a safety feature so you don’t get locked out 🤦‍♂️🤣. I’m noticing my engine running differently, is your truck originally v6 with a bcm from a v8 ?

I know I can buy a remote but I already had an alarm and I’m trying to tap into the door locks/unlocks, because I had aftermarket actuators. I’ve found which wires I would supposedly tap into but my wiring that goes into the BCM doesn’t have those wires. Would you know anything about that ?

Did you do any extra wiring for the power locks to work or just the electric widows? Also what exactly was the problem with the dome light? You swapped a new bcm to get the light to work??

once you swap your bcm your lock will work without doing extra wiring and also your dome light will work when you open your doors

Do I need to swap the bcm out for one that has power windows wired every thing already getting power and all but the switches aren’t making the windows go down and my truck a 99 base so the bcm probably don’t have the power windows

Im doing this on my 03 ram i replaced the in cab harnesses and door harnesses and installed the doors lock mechanisms but on the window motor track/bracket the Ridgid arm off the motor is at a different angle 😢 so i gota figure one that out😂

Ay I tried to do this and I swapped the window engines over and the locks and I tested them and they work but when I tried to do the wring the harness I have has 4 orange skinny wires and some others think ones that are not orange I tried to give the 12 v to 2 of them and nothing happend idk it’s not working

Ended up getting it took me about 4 days. The bcm was a TOTAL B and a half to program and still tells me I got a liftgate fuse to replace😂 but I ended up having to get power from the front fuse block and put a tap in there and was able to program a key fob with it. The process took me a few times I ended up having to get a new battery but all in all it wasn’t that hard

😂😂 I converted my truck to manual windows and haven't been able to find any door panels in dark gray like the ones you took out. So my truck looks just like yours inside. Gray interior with tan door panels 😂😂

Yeah I’ve found some but they’ve over priced them but I’m not worried I’ll eventually find some good ones😂

Yep they are or you have to buy the entire door to get them. I found 2 sets in my local junkyard but both has sun damage. You should be able to find some nice ones pretty easy. It seems like there are more automatic than there are manual. Side note...... have you ever looked into doing the Toyota tundra rear window swap? I did mine last year and absolutely love it

I will say the nissan titan window is alot easier to install but I wanted the entire back window to go down

@@Henrylxt yep I used a 08 tundra window. The entire glass goes down. The titan is a little easier because only the center goes down. But either way both are really nice options. The titan window is way easier and you can order install kits online.

You didnt swap the doors? Most do that. I need to try this

Not sure if it will for for 99-02 trucks you can try. The way they should work is by changing the bcm

99-02 is different go on TWA Motorsports for a full door conversion

So on the passenger side are supposed to take out the the box where the harnest goes and splice the 2 orange wires together and put it back in the box? Kinda confused on that part but every thing else makes sense

you get your 2 orange wires form the harness of the windows

you do not have to switch bcm in order to work unless you want your power mirrios to work then yes you do

Can you just swap doors? I need my truck repainted so color won’t be an issue for me

If you add a bcm that came from a truck with folding mirrios and turn signals then it should work

Can you program a key fob doing it this way?

yes if you change the bcm you’ll be able to program a key fob

Alright i have one more dumb question lol. I swapped out the bcm and got did the 3 10s procedure. How do i get the air bag light to turn off. Not sure if anyones run into this issue

i heard that air bag light does come on not exactly sure how to turn it off but i think there’s a video that shows you how to turn it off

@@07Silv I’m not sure if a Tahoe bcm will work. I can 100% say that a bcm from any Silverado model will work tho as long as it has power locks and windows

i would go ahead an swap it just bc your cluster will stay on for a while after you turn off your truck if you leave your stock bcm

if you connected everything right both sides should work once you connect them all together the bcm is for your locks to work and for keyless entry with a fob

you need to swap your bcm
