    @@mattmcdowell1218 Thanks. I picked up one in SGP 3 days ago for about $500 under MSRP and got some of their BS fees knocked off, but had to drive 2 hours away to get this deal. BTW, I find the fueling and throttle response at slow speeds in 1st and 2nd to be a bit jerky. Nothing to do with shifting. For example, if I'm decelerating from around 4K to 1K in 2nd gear with my foot completely off the pedal, as the rpms drop to around 1.5K there is some jerkiness. If I'm in 1st and cruising at around 10mph and let off the throttle I also get quite a bit of jerkiness. Have you experienced any of this kind of behavior? I just came from a 2023 WRX which has the best/smoothest fueling I've experienced in any car or motorcycle.

    Excellent !! awesome !! You have figured out the best way to hear the induction growl without risk of poor filteration from after market concial filters + not getting any heat soak from the engine. I tested the IAT before and after installing K &N and there is quite a lot of heat being absorbed from the engine bay. At - I recorded 10 deg C above ambent @ 80 to 120 KMH - I recorded 30 to 40 deg C above ambent @ idle , temps would climb very rapidly at idle With the factory airbox, the IAT was always = ambient temp within few seconds of the car picking up speed. Honda did a geat job with the Civci factory airbox without the complications. (Complicated for me was Prelude's factory airbox pulliing air from behind the front right fender, with a vacum driven flap which changed the intake resonator lenght dynamically for best air velocity) You have found the perfect balance of indcution growl + getting the coldest air from the outside. I'm going to do same with mine, getting rid of the K &N :-)

    I got it off through the engine bay, but it took some finessing. I had to keep moving it around at different angles as I pulled it up and out because of how oddly shaped it is. I almost considered hacksawing part of it but didn't want to have to order another one to go back to the stock setup. It's definitely doable, but might be less of a pain in the ass if you remove the bumper.

  • @NAUS2K

    @NAUS2K

    There would be no point in putting holes in the bottom of the resonator. The front feed is already a cold area inlet right into the box. The restriction is not the existing flowpath, it is most likely the oem air filter element.

    Im a little confused about this video. From what I understand, the air passage with the factory intake goes through one hole that you plugged and comes back up through the other hole? Wouldnt plugging both holes completely block the air coming in from the front? I'm assuming 100% of the air goes through 1 hole and comes back through the other. I have an '18 K20C2 and wouldnt mind trying something like this on my car.

  • @NAUS2K

    No air enters of exits those holes, I may have misspoke when showing them in detail. The back of the intake shows the wrap around flow design. Plugging these two holes does not restrict the main flow path at all, just prevents the sound waves from entering the baffled chamber

    Hey there, I installed them already. I was just a little curious. Do you put the air intake box right after putting the plugs or should I wait some time or is it ok for me to place the box right after installing the plugs? If so, how long in hours should I wait for it to cure?

  • @NAUS2K

    @NAUS2K

    Ай бұрын

    You can put the box right back on as the gasket will slide over the OD of the resonator and not touch the plugs. Cure time depends on what RTV you use. I let my car sit for a couple hours and then took it for a rip and it was cured enough for them to stay

    I dont know about this. It can be doing more harm than good HP wise even the resonator has its purpose in controlling the air into the engine. Considering how good and efficient the stock intake is and can be tuned to get more gains in stock form. Obviously, all speculation until someone does real dynos. But for induction lovers on a budget, this is definitely the way to go.

    PRL did a dyno test and it showed it made +8whp and +6wtq, i don’t notice this difference really but it seems slightly more efficient at high rpm and has better throttle response/noise

    @brycemurdock6984 with the stock intake right?

    @@whereswaldo9089 The high volume prl intake made those gains over stock, i would only suggest getting it really for the noise however. I also got the megan racing exhaust it is surprising high quality, my civic even burples at low speeds even without changing my front/down pipe yet.

    @brycemurdock6984 nice nice! Yea I have the prl intake mainly for noise, and I have a vibrant ultra quiet resonator on the axel back.

    The little box underneath that you taped off might be for catching water. If the bottom of the airbox is airtight, then it would need somewhere to go. Its hard to tell exactly how its oriented in the video, if it would be effective at doing that. I have a SI, which has a different looking airbox. So I can't go check it out. But, on the several Hondas I've previously owned, all of which have gutted airboxes, they all had a tiny hole at the bottom to let any sucked in water drop out of the box.

    I have tested this pretty throughly as this thought did cross my mind. I’ve driven in some torrential downpours and when I arrived at my destination, I popped the hood and zero water entered the intake tract. Filter was still bone dry
